Betting Tips
Liverpool will be looking to win five straight games in all competitions when they visit Kenilworth Road to play Luton Town in Sunday’s Premier League match. In midweek EFL Cup play, the Reds destroyed Bournemouth 2-1, and the Hatters in the West Midlands became the latest victims of Aston Villa, losing 3-1.
Luton Town vs Liverpool
Luton probably felt confident going into Villa Park after stealing a point from Forest with a pair of goals in the last ten minutes to draw 2-2. But last weekend’s lopsided 3-1 loss to Aston Villa brought the Premier League rookies back to earth quite quickly.
Emi Martinez’s own goal late in the game was a consolation goal that made the score appear closer than it actually was. Luton was unable to hold off a Villa team that produced five obvious scoring opportunities and 2.28 anticipated goals compared to the Hatters’ 0.48. They’ve dropped three of their previous four games overall, so they won’t be getting any easier when Liverpool visits Kenilworth Road.
Liverpool’s victory over Bournemouth 2-1 on the road on Wednesday in the EFL Cup keeps them in four competitions. After their most recent 5-1 victory over Toulouse, the Reds are leading their Europa League group with three wins out of three.
In the Premier League, where Jurgen Klopp’s team just defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 at home to register their second straight victory, things are also looking up. In front of the home crowd, Liverpool has dominated at Anfield, winning eight out of eight games in all competitions. They have encountered some roadblocks, though, the most recent of which was their 2-2 away tie against Brighton. Overall, Liverpool have won two, drawn two, and lost once in their five away league fixtures.
Verdict
There will be a lot of spirit in the Luton camp, despite the fact that the cards may appear stacked against them. Even though they have only won once in their first ten games, the recently promoted team will work hard to avoid going down. At the moment, they are only one point behind the safety zone.
Liverpool, on the other hand, travels to Luton on the strength of a four-game winning streak. They know full well that a mistake of any size against Luton may ruin their hopes of winning the Premier League. All agree, though, that Klopp’s team should easily overcome the test presented by their hosts.
Lately, Liverpool has dominated on both sides of the ball. In the past four games, their goal differential has been 12:2. Luton should be comfortably defeated by Jurgen Klopp’s team on Sunday afternoon. We believe that Liverpool can win this game and put Luton away. Since the beginning of the season, the hosts have been among the league’s worst teams, and Liverpool’s offense is now unmatched. They give up goals, yet they typically score two or more goals in each game.
