Betting Tips
Tuesday’s Premier League matchup between Luton Town and Arsenal will see them face off in a top-tier match for the first time in thirty-two years at Kenilworth Road. Over the weekend, Mikel Arteta’s team defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 to increase their advantage at the top of the table, while the Hatters lost 3-1 at Brentford.
Luton vs Arsenal
As one of the leading contenders for relegation, Luton is only two points above the drop zone, and after this weekend’s game against Arsenal, they could find themselves there. Luton has shown themselves to be a nuisance thus far in their Premier League debut. Despite lacking exceptional players, Rob Edwards’ astute leadership has kept the Hatters competitive so far.
But Luton came into this match 17th in the standings after losing 3-1 on the road at Brentford on Saturday. Luton has only won one of their last eight games, a 3-1 loss away to Brentford, where the home team dominated with 69% ball possession and 20 more shots on goal than the opposition.
Arsenal is vying for the championship once more. They have twenty years to wait for the Premier League trophy. As of right now, Mikel Arteta’s group leads Manchester City (who have played one fewer game) by four points. The last five games, across all competitions, were won by Arsenal. They defeated Wolves 2-1 at home in the previous match. Arsenal scored twice in the first 13 minutes of that match, getting off to a fast start. Late in the second half, Wolves scored, but it was too late to change the course of the match.
The Gunners are the clear favorites in this match, but Luton has proven at Kenilworth Road that they can test the big guns, so things might not be as simple for Mikel Arteta’s team as the odds would indicate.
Verdict
Although Luton is usually a resilient team at home, the loss of Mengi and Lockyer to injuries will make the task much more difficult for the hosts.
Although Arsenal have a busy week ahead of them and will be exhausted, Mikel Arteta’s team should have little trouble winning because of their general strength and depth.
Expect an overwhelming win for Arsenal, even though they might not hit Luton for six as they did Lens. Luton struggles to score goals. In the previous seven games, they have only managed seven goals. But in the preceding five games, Arsenal had only let up two goals. The optimal wager for this match should be on Arsenal winning.
Edwards’ common-sense approach gives the hosts a chance on Tuesday, but I don’t see Arsenal, given their recent successes, having too many problems in midweek. The first goal will once again be crucial, and the Gunners will be hoping for another fast start.
