The seventh round of the current Bundesliga season will begin on Monday with the football match between Borussia M’gladbach and Mainz. We are confident that Die Fohlen will employ yet another attack-minded strategy against Die Nullfunfer since they are hungry to build on a 3-1 victory over Bochum. On the other side, Mainz struggled to get out to a fast start this year, scoring just one point overall.
Borussia M’gladbach vs Mainz
Borussia Monchengladbach and Gerardo Seoane have had a difficult start to the season, but things have improved recently, and they can beat Mainz with all three points.
Gladbach is currently six games away from relegation in the Bundesliga, although they are just off their season-opening 3-1 victory at Bochum.
Even though it took some time to adjust after significant departures over the summer like Marcus Thuram and Jonas Hofmann, Gladbach recent game saw them restore their attacking flair.
They managed 27 shots in that victory at Bochum, nine of which found the target, and they have four points in their previous three games.
Given that their first three games only produced one point and that they play a team on Friday that has had an even worse start to the season, that is encouraging.
With just one point from six games, Mainz is dead last in the Bundesliga and has allowed 17 goals so far this season.
Because they are expected to be in the heart of a relegation struggle this season after finishing ninth last year and their team’s confidence is low, support Gladbach to win at home. Nevertheless, Mainz scored goals in recent losses to Stuttgart and Augsburg.
Monchengladbach has had an especially bad start to the season at home, losing all three of their Bundesliga games. In contrast, they only dropped four of their 17 home games the previous year.
They should, however, view this match as a perfect chance to win their second straight league game, given that Mainz are now on a four-game losing run. With no victories in their last 11 league games since last April, Mainz enters this encounter at the bottom of the standings with just one point from six games played.
Mainz has dropped five of their past six away games, losing four of those defeats by a score of at least three goals.
The home-and-away record, which shows Mainz unbeaten in their past five games against Monchengladbach, including in their last three travels to this site, will give the visitors confidence.
However, considering their current state, it is difficult to have much faith that Mainz will reverse their recent string of unfavorable results.
