Juventus vs Porto Betting Tips

Preview

A place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals will be on the line when Juventus face FC Porto in the Round of 16 second leg on Tuesday.

The UEFA Champions League is back this week, with the second leg fixtures of the Last 16 stage set to be played over the next ten days or so. The first of these ties will be completed on Tuesday, when Juventus will play hosts to FC Porto at the Allianz Stadium, hoping to overturn a first leg deficit to progress to the quarter-finals.

Both sides come into this fixture in good spirits having won their last games over the weekend. Porto claimed an away 2-0 win over Gil Vicente while Juventus claimed a big 3-1 win over Lazio.

The first leg, played at Estadio do Dragao, saw Porto eke out a narrow 2-1 win over Juventus and there would be hopes the Bianconeri can turn the tie around.

With the Champions League trophy proving elusive for so long though, the often-criticized Pirlo would instead be lauded if his charges can take the next step towards continental glory on Tuesday night.

Tip: Juventus to win

The defeat in the first leg came as a shock, leaving the tie interestingly poised. Having said that, Juventus have been quite formidable at home this season and they are unlikely to have their goal breached by FC Porto on Tuesday. If there is any defensive unit that can keep Porto’s powerful front duo quiet, it would be the Bianconeri’s, as they are specialists at shut-outs – regardless of the opposition. Bet365 have 1.44 odds, Bet9ja have 1.47 and 1xbet have 1.49.

Over 1.5 Goals

As we said earlier, Juventus are formidable at home both in defence and upfront as well. They have scored at least three goals alone in their last two outings at the Allianz Stadium just to buttress the earlier point. Scoring three against Porto might be a tough task regardless but asking for two goals shouldn’t be much of an ask. Bet9ja have 1.21 odds while Bet365 and 1xbet have 1.25.

Anytime Goal-scorer (Juventus)

Ronaldo

Ronaldo had a poor outing in the first leg but he’ll be hoping to prove he is ever-green with a brilliant outing today. In his bid for the Old Lady to taste Champions League greatness yet again, ‘Mr Champions League’ is fired up for tonight’s clash, with Andrea Pirlo and Leonardo Bonucci openly stating that CR7 is ready for this game. He was rested in the game against Lazio and should be fully fit and fresh in search of a goal tonight.  Bet365 have 1.57 odds while Bet9ja have 1.75.

Alvaro Morata

Morata is presently among the joint top scorers in the competition with his six goals already. He has been impressive in the competition netting superb and vital goals earning them the top spot in their group. He also comes into this fixture with good form, having bagged a brace against Lazio. He has formed a good partnership with Ronaldo and one or both of them could get on the score-sheet tonight. Bet365 have 1.95 odds while Bet9ja have theirs at 2.30.

Anytime Goal-scorer (Porto)

Sergio Oliveira

He had a good outing in the first leg and all that was lacking was a goal. He is the third highest goal scorer in the Portuguese league this and is only one ahead of Taremi who is just behind him. He comes into this game with good form, having scored at the weekend. He is among the likely names if Porto are looking to claim another shock win/upset. Bet365 have a whopping 5.75 odds for him to score and Bet9ja have it even better at 8.00.

M.Taremi

He stunned Juventus in the first leg with a goal in the first minute.  That was his first goal in the competition this season and he’ll be fired up to carry on his impressive form overall. He has 15 goals so far this term and will be among the danger men for Porto on the evening. Bet365 have 4.00 odds and Bet9ja have 6.00 for the same event.

Borussia Dortmund vs Sevilla Betting Tips

Preview

Borussia Dortmund will be looking to book their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League when they host Sevilla in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Tuesday night.

The German giants recorded a 3-2 victory over the Europa League holders in the first leg last month and are therefore the favourites to advance to the final eight of the competition.

It will be a difficult challenge for the Spanish giants, given how their defence was completely ripped apart by Erling Haaland and co. In addition to that, the club has registered only one win in four matches since the first leg, including their knockout at the hands of FC Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey as well as a defeat to Elche on the weekend.

Dortmund, in contrast, were in excellent form before their run was eventually halted by Bayern Munich. They still have good reasons to be optimistic about this game, and the fans have witnessed a significant improvement in chance creation and defensive solidity. Both will be critical as they look to seal their ticket to the quarterfinals of the Champions League this midweek.

Tip: Both teams to score: Yes

Sevilla and Dortmund have some of the best goal scorers in their respective leagues this season. Besides, both sides have been defence of late and boast adequate personnel to capitalize on them at both ends. It’s still difficult to predict who could win but it’s a game that could turn out very similar to the first tie. Bet9ja have 1.46 odds, Bet365 have 1.50 and 1xbet have 1.57.

Over 2.5 goals

For the same reasons above, we’re once again tipping both teams to score. Having watched Dortmund blow a two-goal lead at the weekend, Sevilla would surely think there is room for them to score a few. A certain Norwegian is not looking back as well and will be eager to replicate his first leg heroics that saw him bag a brace. Bet365 have 1.53 odds, Bet9ja have 1.55 and 1xbet have 1.66.

Anytime Goal-scorer (Dortmund)

Erling Haaland

After scoring a first-half brace in the first leg, Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland is one goal away from becoming Norway’s highest-ever UCL scorer after netting 18 goals in 13 appearances. You can’t seem to stop him from scoring at the moment. He bagged a brace in the first leg and bagged another in his last outing against Bayern at the weekend. He recently became the fastest player to reach 100 career goals and once again we’re backing this goal machine to carry on with the goals. Bet365 have 1.57 odds while Bet9ja have 1.75.

Jadon Sancho

After Haaland, the Englishman is perhaps the next best attacker in form for Dortmund. Bar the 4-2 defeat to Bayern Munich at the weekend, Sancho has scored at least a goal in three out of his last four games for Dortmund. If the Sevilla defence put all their eggs on keeping Haaland quiet, he could be the one to grab a goal for Dortmund regardless. Bet365 have 2.75 odds while Bet9ja have 4.00.

Anytime Goalscorers (Sevilla)

El-Nesyri

Sevilla have struggled of late and the goals have equally dried up for El-Nesyri. However, he remains the top scorer for Sevilla this season and games like this could motivate the Moroccan forward to step back up and get back in the goals like he did earlier on in the season. Bet365 have 2.30 odds while Bet9ja have 2.55.

Luuk de Jong

He might have only nine goals across all competitions for Sevilla this season but we’re picking him as a potential goal-scoring candidate for one reason. Based on form, he has been one of the reliable names for the Spanish side. He scored the game’s final goal in the first leg and has netted two of Sevilla’s three strikes since, both after half time. He could come as a decent shout to score today. Bet365 have 2.75 odds while Bet9ja have theirs at 2.85.
