13/02/2021 – Napoli vs Juventus Prediction

There are a couple of fixtures that play a big part in the Serie A title race every season. This particular fixture is no doubt one of them.

Juventus will be eager to continue their fine run of form when they take on Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Saturday.

Napoli have blown hot and cold over the ongoing campaign, showing some very promising signs to build on last season’s Coppa Italia triumph at times while going completely off the boil for a few games in a row. This has been the running theme since the turn of the year, as the Partenopei have lost six of the 12 games they have played in 2021, with the pressure mounting on Gennaro Gattuso.

Juventus, on the other hand, have tightened the screws since the turn of the year, winning 10 of the 12 games that they have played in 2021. This has largely been down to the turnaround in defence, while Cristiano Ronaldo has been in phenomenal scoring form. Coming into this weekend’s fixture, the Bianconeri have celebrated progression through to the Coppa Italia final, having beaten Inter Milan in the penultimate stage.

Both sides have been in action in mid-week, playing their Coppa Italia semi-final reverse fixtures against Inter and Atalanta respectively. They will both then return to European duties next week.

The Bianconeri take on Port in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16 round clash against Porto, while I Partinopei take on Granada in the last 32 round of Europa League on Thursday.

Despite the congested schedule, we don’t expect too many rotations from the managers here. Both Gennaro Gattuso and Andrea Pirlo will need their key players as this is a very important match that could play a massive impact on the Serie A standings at the end of the season.

The reverse fixture was called off in controversial circumstances and will be played again, but Napoli have faced Juventus once this term, with Andrea Pirlo’s men grabbing a 2-0 win in the Italian Super Cup. Ahead of the latest meeting between the two sides, we bring you best betting tips to go with for this game.

Both Teams to Score

Napoli are on poor form at the moment but the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium has been something of a fortress for them. Given how this game could largely impact the Serie A title race, we expect an attacking performance from both ends of the pitch and that should translate to goals. Bet9ja have 1.66 odds, Bet365 have 1.75 and 1xbet have 1.76.

Juventus to Win

It’s difficult to predict a winner in these sort of games but we’re tipping the Bianconeri to win regardless. Napoli are capable of beating anyone on their day but they’ve already had way too many unexpected slip-ups this term. One such happened last weekend when Gattuso’s men fell 2-1 away at bottom-half Genoa.  The Partinopei have thus won just two of the last six games in all competitions. It is not the kind of form you want to have going head to head with the reigning champions. Juventus won six of the last seven league matches by at least two goals difference. Form is only subjective but Juventus are the clear favorites to win this one. Bet365 have 1.95 odds, Bet9ja have 2.02 and 1xbet have 2.05.

Anytime goal-scorer (Napoli)

Politiano

The Italian forward has been relatively consistent and is on good scoring form at the moment. He is Napoli’s joint highest goal-scorer this season with nine goals to his name. In the past five matches for Gennaro Gattuso’s men, he has been one of the two likely names to be on the score-sheet. There is immense value with him as Bet9ja are offering a whopping 4.00 odds for him to score while Bet365 have theirs at 4.33.

Lozano

The second likely name that has been on the score-sheet for Napoli of late is Lozano. Also on nine Serie A goals, the 25-year-old has scored in three of Napoli’s last six games, including the fastest goal in Serie A history against Verona. If Napoli would get a goal that won’t come from Politiano, it would most likely be from him. Bet365 have 2.87 odds while Bet9ja have 2.90.

Anytime goal-scorer (Juventus)

Ronaldo

It needs no explanation why we’re tipping him to score today. With 16 goals to his name, he remains the league top scorer and he’ll be motivated to keep the charge and win his first ever Capocannoniere award. CR7 recently clocked 36 but has shown no signs of letting down. You can back him with confidence to get a goal today. Bet365 have 1.80 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have 2.20.

Chiesa

Juventus’ Federico Chiesa has scored three of his five Serie A goals across the last three away league matches, netting twice inside the opening 20 minutes. The 23-year-old has shown willingness to get into attacking areas and he could be worth a punt today. He is also on full confidence at the moment given his form. He’s definitely a goal-scoring candidate today. Bet365 have 2.87 odds while Bet9ja have it better at 3.50.
