A busy week is on the cards in the footballing world and we’ll be here to cover it all.
Before we go into today’s action, let’s take a brief recap from yesterday’s tips.
The straight wins section saw a poor outing as only Atalanta and Real Madrid delivered on that end. Manchester United and Lille played stalemates while Everton suffered a shock loss to Fulham.
For the goal market section, three out of five picks played out correctly. Once again, Manchester United disappointed and an unlikely name in Atalanta didn’t score enough as well.
The goal-scorer section saw a 50% win rate as Lukaku bagged a brace and Benzema got on the score-sheet as well. Cavani failed to score while Calvert-Lewin didn’t even feature for Everton.
Two important games are on the line today and we’ll be hoping to enjoy a good run of form just before the Champions League and Europa League games.
Chelsea vs Newcastle Prediction
Tip: Chelsea to win
New Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel remains unbeaten as Blues boss, winning his last four games in succession. Chelsea have lead 1-0 at the interval in each victory. After Chelsea recorded 78.9% possession and completed 820 passes in Tuchel’s debut against Wolves, they have kept this intensity up, averaging 66.0% possession across their subsequent three league victories. Newcastle have been anything but consistent all season. A win could take Chelsea up to fourth ahead of Liverpool and we see them doing just that today. Bet365 have 1.22 odds, Bet9ja have 1.25 and 1xbet have 1.26.
Both teams to score: NO
Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in four out of their last five games and have only conceded once (against Sheffield United). It’s safe to say Tuchel has worked on the defensive side of their game and it’s why they have looked more solid and compact at the back of recent. Of course, Chelsea will still concede a lot of goals under Tuchel but we can see them dominating possession and keeping yet another clean sheet against the Magpies. 1xbet have 1.59 odds, Bet365 have 1.61 and Bet9ja have 1.63.
Anytime Goal-scorer
Tammy Abraham
With 12 goals across all competitions, Abraham is the Blues top-scorer this season. Last time out, he scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea narrowly beat Barnsley to advance further in the FA Cup. Chelsea have actually had a number of different goal-scorers in their last couple games but Abraham remains a top shout to always get in on their goals. Bet365 have 1.80 odds while Bet9ja have 1.90.
Jorginho
Werner might not be scoring goals at the moment but he has been gifting his side lots of penalties with his movements in the box. Jorginho has scored two goals in his last two Premier League games and both of them have been penalties won by Werner. Should Chelsea get yet another penalty, the Italian will be waiting to step in and score from the spot as usual. This could come as a value tip with Bet365 offering 3.20 odds and Bet9ja offering 3.50.
Bayern Munich vs Arminia Bielefeld Prediction
Tip: Bayern to win
Bundesliga leaders Bayern take on relegation threatened Arminia and we can see this game play out in one direction. Fresh from winning the Club World Cup, Bayern are well on course to retain their league crown as a win will take them seven points clear. They have also won their last seven games in all competitions and we expect them to make it eight tonight without fuss. Bet365 have 1.12 odds, Bet9ja have 1.14 and 1xbet have 1.17.
Over 2.5 Goals
With 58 goals so far in the league, only Ajax have scored more goals than Bayern in Europe’s top five leagues. Exceptional upfront as seen by their average of 2.90 goals scored per Bundesliga fixture – their joint-highest average at this stage of a top-flight campaign. Arminia have one of the worst defences in the league this season and we can see the reigning champions taking advantage of that. Bet9ja have 1.25 odds while Bet365 and 1xbet have 1.28.
Anytime Goal-scorer
Lewandowksi
A jaw-dropping tally of 29 goals already this season means the Polish forward is the undisputed goal king of Europe as it stands. He continues his remarkable form from last season and we don’t need to explain much on why we expect him to get on the score-sheet once again. Bet365 and Bet9ja have only 1.25 odds for him to score.
Sane
The German forward has not done as many would have expected in a Bayern jersey. He has only seven goals to his names across all competitions. Injuries have also ensured he hasn’t staked a regular starting spot under Hansi Flick. However, the recent injury to Serge Gnabry could see Sane play a lot more and that could increase his chances of scoring, starting from today. Bet365 have 1.66 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have it better at 1.95.
West Ham vs Sheffield United Prediction
Tip: West Ham to win
West Ham have every motivation to win when they take on bottom place Sheffield tonight. Given how a number of top sides dropped points at the weekend, a win for the Hammers could see them move up to fourth place on the standings. West Ham also have a good record at home this term and we can see them claiming a win over Sheffield. Bet365have 1.72 odds, Bet9ja have 1.77 and 1xbet have 1.80.
