17/12/2020 – Daily Football Predictions

Yesterday was a fairly decent day at the office for us. Lots of games across Europe were on display and we were given a blast of action all over.

Our tips from the featured match came through with Liverpool edging out Tottenham 2-1 thanks to a late header from Firmino.

In the straight win market, it was impressive as four out of five picks played out correctly and only AC Milan failed to win after they were held to a 2-2 draw.

Perhaps midweek is not a time for many goals as we saw this trend yesterday. Only Barcelona did justice to our over 2.5 tips and sadly the other four games did not play out correctly.

In the goal-scorer section, it was 50% success as Lukaku and Son grabbed goals but Ronaldo and Calvert-Lewin failed to find the back of the net.

Not many games are on ground today but we can’t ignore the fact that a certain Manchester United play today and that is enough reason for us to put out today’s tips.

Sheffield United vs Manchester United Prediction

When these two sides last met in one of the first matches after lockdown it was a showdown between two Champions League hopefuls.

For Sheffield United at least, that could not be further from the truth now as they find themselves struck with a serious case of second-season syndrome.

Manchester United have not had things all their own way either this term but, despite sitting in the relatively lowly position of eighth, they are at least still in the hunt and sit just five points off the top of the table with a game in hand.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have their away form to thank for that, with 15 of their 20 points coming on their travels.

The stats behind Man United’s away form are remarkable; victory on Thursday would see them become only the fourth side in English top-flight history to win 10 consecutive away league games, while they could also become the first team to score two or more goals in 10 successive top-flight games since Tottenham Hotspur more than 60 years ago.

A win can take United up to sixth place and they’ll be eager to get the job done at Bramall lane.

Betting Tips

Manchester United win

Both sides are in very contrasting form at the moment. Despite the supposed ‘crisis’ under Solskjaer, United are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games with four wins and  a draw. Sheffield are the completely opposite with five losses from their last five outings. Barring any shock/upsets, we expect this game to easily go in favor of the Red Devils for a comprehensive victory. Not to forget, the Red Devils are a different breed away from home. Betway have 1.43 odds, Bet9ja have 1.45 and 1xbet has 1.46.

Over 2.5 Goals

Three out of United’s last five league games has seen over 2.5 goals. The same can be said for Sheffield too although they are on the receiving end of those goals. The Blades have one of the worst defences in the league at the moment and United would be looking to capitalize on that. Betway have 1.73 odds, Bet9ja have 1.74 and 1xbet has it better at 1.83 odds.

Anytime goal-scorer – Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes is becoming one of the surest names to grab a goal for United and he would fancy his chances of doing that today. Either from open play or from the penalty spot, the Portuguese always finds a way to influence the game and we have a hunch he could score today. Betway have 2.20 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have 2.25.

In another game across Europe, Roma take on Torino and we’ll take the opportunity to give you tips for that game as well.

Roma vs Torino Betting Tips

Roma win

Roma can move up to fourth place with a win over Torino tonight. Roma have only one loss from their last five games and have three wins and a draw. On the other hand, Torino have three losses and two draws from their last five outings. We expect Roma to be too strong for their opponents and take all three points on home turf. Bet9ja and Betway have 1.38 odds while 1xbet has 1.41.

Over 2.5 Goals

Four of Roma’s last five league games have seen over 2.5 goals. They don’t seem to have a problem scoring goals at all. The only exception was their goalless draw with Sassuolo two weeks ago. Last weekend, they blew Bologna apart with a 5-1 score-line and we expect another dominant victory today. Bet9ja are offering 1.38 odds, Betway have 1.40 and 1xbet have 1.42 odds.
