20/06/2021 Euro 2020 Daily Predictions

More sides continue to book their place in the round of 16 while it would no doubt go down to the wire in some groups. England could only manage a disappointing draw against Scotland while Croatia could not win once again against Czech Republic. More interesting games lie in wait today and we’ll be giving you the best betting tips and predictions to go with as usual.

Italy vs Wales Betting Predictions

Italy to win

Italy face Wales in Rome on Sunday in a match that does not have so much riding on it given that both sides have essentially booked their places in the knockout stages. Both Italy and Wales know that there is not exactly too much riding on their Group A game, with Italy having already guaranteed their place in the knockouts and Wales knowing only a freak turn of events will stop them from joining the Azzurri in the next round. Roberto Mancini’s side have won 12 of their last 14 games, drawing the other two, with the Azzurri conceding just once during this run. They are unbeaten in their last 29 games across all competitions, winning 24 and drawing five, with Portugal being the last side to defeat them – in September 2018.  No team is in better form than Italy at Euro 2020 so far. Even if Wales lose, they are still likely to make the knockouts. Expect the Italians to continue their fine attacking and defensive form on Sunday. Bet635 have 1.45 odds, Bet9ja have 1.52 and 1xbet have 1.55.

Over 2.5 Goals

These two sides have been the winners in a tight looking group F, the pair both picked up deserved wins against Turkey and sit on 6 and 4 points respectively, all but sealing a place in the round of 16 for both. That doesn’t put too much on this game, Wales need to win to top the group but aren’t fancied to do so. Roberto Mancini may well freshen up his starting XI here given their intense pressing and energy put out in the first two games. Andrea Bellotti, Matteo Pessina, Federico Chiesa and Emerson could be some of the players to get a start. The strength in depth remains strong among the Azzurri ranks and they’ll still be a goal-scoring threat. Bet9ja have 2.15 odds, Bet365 have 2.20 and 1xbet have 2.25.

Switzerland vs Turkey Betting Predictions

Switzerland to win

Switzerland had won six matches on the spin heading into the finals and they were the better team during their opening group match against Wales, registering double the number of shots of Robert Page’s side and achieving 64 per cent possession. Vladimir Petkovic’s side then came up against an Italy team that have arguably been the most impressive nation at the tournament to date and their 3-0 defeat in Rome, although disappointing, should not detract from their hopes of getting a positive result on Sunday. Turkey were many people’s dark horses heading into the Euros, but they have significantly underperformed, deservedly losing to both Italy and Wales. They did not look like scoring in either match. Star striker Burak Yilmaz has been marked out of the tournament so far and if Switzerland can keep him quiet on Sunday they should go on to win the match. Bet365 have 1.66 odds, Bet9ja have 1.70 and 1xbet have 1.74.

Both teams to Score – Yes

Switzerland haven’t kept many clean sheets and neither have Turkey. Both sides go to this game seeking to win and we don’t expect very tight defensive formations out there. With their defensive outputs already seen, this promises to be a game where both sides could easily find the back of the net. Bet9ja have 1.70 odds, Bet365 have 1.72 and 1xbet have 1.77.

Over 2.5 Goals

In all four matches involving these two nations at Euro 2020 there have been two or three goals scored and it would be no surprise for Sunday’s contest to follow suit. Switzerland had scored in 10 successive matches before they drew a blank against the Italians, and there are plenty of goals in Petkovic’s squad, with Xherdan Shaqiri, Granit Xhaka, Haris Seferovic, Admir Mehmedi and Mario Gavranovic having all hit double figures for their country. The side ranked 13th in the world could notch two or three goals in Baku and it may well be worth backing a total of over two goals in the match. Bet365 have 1.72 odds, Bet9ja have 1.76 and 1xbet have 1.83.

Anytime Goal-scorer

Ciro Immobile

Ciro Immobile is currently tied with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Euro 2020 Golden Boot, with the Lazio forward having scored once in both of his two games so far. The Lazio man has averaged five shots a game over his two Euro 2020 appearances so far, with only the Czech Republic’s Patrick Schick averaging more.  He has found the net in five of his last six games for Mancini’s side, and he had an impressive 25-goal season for his club side.  Wales have allowed 36 shots in their two games so far. We are sure Immobile will be licking his lips at that statistic as he prepares for Italy’s final group game on Sunday. Bet9ja and Bet365 have 2.20 odds for him to score.

Gareth Bale

Wales are expected to employ a defensive approach here, and hope they can use Gareth Bale’s pace and vision on the counter. The skipper was impressive against Turkey. Though he missed a penalty in the game, his two assists and vision will be remembered more. He could come as Wales’ top man to deliver inspiration once again after claiming the man-of-the-match award last time out. Bet365 have 4.00 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have 4.90.

Mario Gavranovic

Dinamo Zagreb striker Gavranovic has come off the bench in Switzerland’s opening two games, producing an impressive late cameo against Wales before being introduced at half-time in Rome. On both occasions the 31-year-old has replaced Benfica star Seferovic, who has struggled to find his best form at the finals. So there is a distinct possibility that Gavranovic will replace him in the starting line-up on Sunday. Gavranovic has a decent goal-scoring record on the international stage, netting 14 in 32 appearances for Switzerland, including a hat-trick in their final warm-up match for Euro 2020 against Liechtenstein. The former Schalke player should certainly be full of confidence and it would be no surprise to see him notch his first goal of the finals at the Olympic Stadium in Baku. Bet365 have 2.62 odds while Bet9ja have 2.75.

Burak Yilmaz

For the Turks, Burak Yilmaz had an outstanding season for French champions Lille and has to be better than he’s shown at the Euros so far. He has been feeding of scraps but even when Turkey have created clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities, they have failed to convert them. Given the experience under his belt, he surely knows how important such a game his and we expect him to be on his very best. Bet365 have 3.10 odds while Bet9ja have 3.20.
