20/09/2020 – Daily Football Predictions

There was a win for Leeds United yesterday. Manchester United also made our over 2.5 prediction come true in surprising fashion. Borussia Dortmund won in emphatic fashion as Gladbach failed to trouble the scorers. Marco Reus didn’t start and it resulted in a loss for us.

Our streak stands at 10/12 and we want to build on it. Thankfully, there are plenty of games to choose for. We shall be extra vigilant in our picks to bring more value and to put yesterday’s in the rearview mirror.

It is the day for champions. Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge, while Real Madrid travel to San Sebastian. Paris Saint-Germain are also in action, going on the road to take on Patrick Viera’s Nice.

But that is surely not it for us. Timo Werner less RB Leipzig welcome Mainz while Kai Havertz less Bayer Leverkusen travel to take on Wolfsburg.

So, without further ado, let’s get straight to the action of the day, shall we?

20/09/20: Featured Match: Nice vs PSG

Preview

Tomas Tuchel’s men are not in the form that is usually associated with them. They lacked the potency to trouble their rivals and Metz all but got a share of the spoils against them.

On the other hand, Nice have won two and lost one. They are prolific in front of goal and this is what makes them a threatening prospect. Les Parisiains have not lost to their rivals since the 2016/17 season and that too came after the title race was already over.

PSG have the bragging rights in the fixtures since, winning four and drawing once. However, this match is closer than many would give the hosts credit for.

Nice score goals and this is what this new PSG defense must be concerned about. They like to go on the offensive but are also assured soaking up pressure.

Questioning the capital club’s might in Ligue 1 is a strange thought to entertain but the champions look vulnerable. Viera will look to give Tuchel a blow in the opening exchanges of the 2020/21 season.

To Win – PSG

Nice are in the top half of the table while their rivals are stuck in 15th place. What makes this tie interesting is that PSG are finding it difficult to score.

They have only troubled the scorers once while shipping in two goals in three fixtures. Had Metz been a little bit adventurous, they might have taken a point from them.

Tuchel should have Mbappe and Neymar back. The duo are the lifeblood of this side and it was proven why. Icardi was poor at best, while Di Maria cannot make a team function on his own.

On the other hand, Nice are clinical in attack. With Marquinhos parading the defense, they will not get many opportunities and will have a difficult time.

Bet365 is heavily inclined towards PSG despite their poor form. They valued Les Parisians to take the three points on offer with odds of 1.33. Nice are difficult to back at 9.0. We are confident PSG have what it takes to get out of their rut and get back to winning ways.

Goals – Over 2.5

20/09/20: Featured Match: Chelsea vs Liverpool

If there is one fixture that guarantees goals, it’s Chelsea and Liverpool. The last time these sides met, the scorers were troubled eight times, five times for the Reds and thrice for the Blues.

A similar situation will be on offer at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard’s men were lethargic in their opening fixture but lucky to claim a 1-3 win. They would like to do what Leeds United failed on their return to the Premier League.

Klopp would want Liverpool to get over their preseason act and be more assured in defense. It looks unlikely that they will gain that shape anytime soon.

It is easy to see Over 2.5 for this game. Bet365 is offering odds of 1.61 for this selection. If you are feeling adventurous, Over 3.5 with 2.50 is also enticing.

Both teams to score – Yes

Let’s stay in West London for this one. Mo Salah, Roberto Firminio and Sadio Mane will lead Liverpool. Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, and Mason Mount will start on the other end.

Liverpool score goals, so does Chelsea. The Reds were assured in defense but were caught napping against the Whites at Anfield of all places. The Blues defense is shaky with an even more unreliable Kepa as their goal custodian.

Both sets offensive and defensive units will provide us goals. It is a good bet to back. Bet 365 is offering odds of 1.53 and it is one to latch on to.

Anytime Goalscorer – Mo Salah

Mo Salah scored a hattrick and this must have stung Sadio Mane. In Spain, Karim Benzema is in action, while a fit Eden Hazard will be lining up alongside him.

Yusuf Poulsen will be raring to prove Die Roten Bullen do not miss Timo Werner. And it is the latter who we are interested in backing as our pick. The German forward was sharp for Chelsea in his first game and comes up against the team that wasted his time.

It is not the reason he will score but makes for an interesting headline. This is also not the reason we are backing him to score his first competitive goal in Chelsea colors. The same can be said about Salah. The Egyptian King started the season in the right mood and we expect him to score again. Bet365 is offering odds of 2.05 for him to get on the scoreboard and there is value to be had.
