21/04/2021 – Daily Football Predictions

It’s been a peculiar past few days in football. From Jose Mourinho getting sacked to supposed talk of an European Super League, football fans have had a lot to deal with. However, games have carried on regardless and so should our regular betting tips as always.

In the midst of all the uncertainty, we bring you tips that should likely play out well across action from Europe’s top five leagues.

Straight Wins

Manchester City to beat Aston Villa Securing European football now looks unlikely for Aston Villa, who sit outside the top ten after winning just one of their previous six Premier League (PL) matches. They take on a Manchester City side that has lost two out of their last three competitive games for the first time this season. The Citizens might not be at their best at the moment but the same goes for Villa and we can still see Guardiola’s men taking one step closer to the title. Bet365 have 1.33 odds, 1xbet have 1.39 and Bet9ja have 1.40.

Borussia Dortmund are making a late charge on the Champions League places after their 4-1 comeback win over Werder Bremen at the weekend. Three wins by a 2+ goal margin from their last four home league games shows an upturn in form. Their opponents in Union Berlin remain European contenders after a 2-1 win in the last round, but we don’t see them causing much trouble with Dortmund tipped for three points. Bet365 have 1.50 odds while Bet9ja and 1xbet have 1.54.

Inter saw their 11-game winning streak in Serie A come to an end after they were held by Napoli last time out. Regardless, they still hold a nine-point lead at the top of the table as they close in on their first league triumph in over a decade. Spezia have struggled for consistency with only two wins from their last five games and we see Inter winning once again. Bet365 have 1.36 odds, Bet9ja have 1.40 and 1xbet have 1.43.

Aiming for a record 35th league title, Real Madrid are unbeaten in 11 league outings (W8, D3), although suffered a setback last time out following their goalless stalemate with Getafe. Cadiz have improved their form of late, with three-games unbeaten but we still expect Real Madrid to claim the win. Bet9ja have 1.38 odds, Bet365 have 1.40 and 1xbet have 1.41.

Not only have Juventus had to deal with watching a tenth consecutive Serie A (SA) title slip away, their 1-0 loss to Atalanta last time out has even put their top-four spot in danger. Luckily for Pirlo and company, they take on a Parma side with only three wins all season and likely to get relegated. With Cristiano Ronaldo back as well, we can see Juve returning to winning ways. Bet365 have 1.25 odds, Bet9ja have 1.28 and 1xbet have 1.30.

Over 2.5 Goals

Milan and Sassuolo face off in a game that should bring a good number of goals. The Rossoneri will be aiming to keep their challenge with Inter while Sassuolo would continue to push for an European spot. Sassuolo may take confidence from the fact that manager Roberto De Zerbi has seen his side on the day score in six of his eight personal H2Hs against Milan. It is a game where both sides could easily score based on current form and we expect to see at least three goals from both ends. Bet9ja have 1.48 odds, 1xbet have 1.51 and Bet365 have 1.53.

Tottenham Hotspur reacted to their 2-2 Premier League (PL) draw with Everton, a result which hurt their Champions League qualification hopes, by dismissing José Mourinho. His 17-month, 86-game reign culminated in one win in his final six competitive games. Spurs have struggled of late but their recent home games have also provided plenty of entertainment, with an average of 4.33 goals per game across their last three PL fixtures here. Another high-scoring affair could ensue, particularly if Southampton start poorly again having conceded 2+ first-half goals in three of their last four league outings. Bet365 have 1.72 odds, Bet9ja have 1.73 and 1xbet have 1.82.

Wolfsburg’s quest for a Champions League spot has taken a dent as they lost their last two league games. However, both of those defeats came against fellow-sides in the top four. Stuggart might not be in the top four but they won’t come easy either, hence we’re tipping this game for a good number of goals. Wolfsburg’s previous three Bundesliga defeats saw them concede within 20 minutes and that could be something for Stuggart to capitalize on. Bet365 have 1.66 odds, 1xbet have 1.71 and Bet9ja have 1.72.

We already mentioned that Dortmund have recorded three wins by a 2+ goal margin from their last four home league games. Similar can also be said of Union Berlin who have scored in all five of their last league outings, including against Bayern Munich. Dortmund are favorites to win this one but could easily be punished by Union Berlin if they fail to stay balanced at the back. With that in mind, we expect the over 2.5 tip to come through. Bet9ja have 1.58 odds, Bet365 have 1.61 and 1xbet have 1.66.

Anytime Goal-scorers

Erling Haaland’s first-half brace last time out made him the first-ever Dortmund player to score 2+ goals in nine Bundesliga games during a single season. The Norwegian sensation just can’t stop scoring with 35 goals from 36 games this term. The extra motivation to steer clear of Andre Silva also on 23 Bundesliga goals should see the youngster fired up for goals. Bet365 have 1.36 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have 1.50.

With Harry Kane doubtful, Son Heung-min becomes even more key for ‘Spurs’, and after scoring four times in September’s reverse fixture, he’s netted more goals against Southampton (ten) than any other club. He has scored a respectable 14 Premier League goals this season and he will fancy his chances on adding more woes to a struggling Southampton side at the moment. Bet365 have 2.00 odds while Bet9ja have 2.25.

In the absence of Ronaldo, Juventus were beaten by Atalanta last time out and lacked any cutting edge upfront. With a fully fit and rested CR7 back in action, he’ll be eager to get on the score-sheet once again. Juventus might have no chance of winning this year’s Serie A title but Ronaldo continues to lead the way in search of his first ever top-scorer award in Italy. Bet365 have 1.40 odds while Bet9ja have 1.50.

Romelu Lukaku has netted 12 of his 21 league goals beyond half time, including his side’s last strike in the reverse H2H. He is the major reason Inter are flying high in their quest to win the league as he has remained consistent all season, with goals and assists. With 21 Serie A goals, he is not far off from Ronaldo (25) and will still believe there’s a chance for him to catch up. Bet365 have 1.61 odds while Bet9ja have 1.67.

Wolfsburg are in third place and look prime to secure a Champions League spot ahead of next season. Much of their positive domestic fortunes this term has been down to the incredible form of Wout Weghorst. The prolific forward has scored in five of Wolfsburg’s last six outings, always before the 55th minute. His 19 Bundesliga goals scored this term means he alone accounts for 37% of Wolfsburg’s goals. Once again, he is a top shout to score today. Bet365 have 1.80 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have it slightly better at 2.00.
