21/09/2020 – Daily Football Predictions

The red card to Andreas Christensen was our undoing. Chelsea could have scored against Liverpool and made our predictions come true but it ended up in a dour result for the Blues fans.

At least PSG dominated their rivals and one of our picks came true. We live and learn. Not going to make the same mistake again, we will not stray too much on a single fixture and stay grounded on the many selections available.

Jack Grealish and Aston Villa are up against Sheffield United. But the main draw of the night will be Manchester City’s trip to the Molineux Stadium. Liverpool already have two wins in two outings and Pep Guardiola’s men will not allow them to get a head start this season.

So, without further ado, let’s get straight to the action of the day, shall we?

Wolves vs Manchester City Prediction

Preview

Liverpool have not been their usual dominating self but they are showing signs of what champions are made of. They are racking wins and moving ahead. Marcelo Bielsa and Frank Lampard are no ordinary men and the Reds overcame their challenges despite not being at their best.

This is what will keep Pep Guardiola up at night. The Catalan coach has not lost out on domestic championships in successive seasons and will not be planning to start that now.

He will come up against Nuno Espirito Santo. The Portuguese took the Wolves to Europa League quarter-finals and only lost to eventual champions Sevilla in the final minutes of the tie.

The wanderers are a tough opposition and fight throughout the fixture. Sheffield United and Chris Wilder will attest to it.

Both sides like to score and it looks to be an enticing fixture. Will the Citizens triumph on the road or will the Wolves howl?

To Win – Manchester City

Leroy Sane left Manchester City for Bayern Munich. The project at the Allianz Arena is an exciting one, especially after the wholesale changes going on in the background. The Etihad Stadium is no different.

Pep Guardiola showed his tactical genius in the last time he came up against Liverpool. The Light Blues are tough under him and tougher when the chips are down. The former Bayern and Barcelona manager is in his last year and would love to deliver.

It makes Nuno Santo’s job difficult as he prepares for the relentless attacks of Guardiola’s men. They have reinforced their ranks with quality individuals and the academy is producing talent that has so far impressed the likes of Barcelona.

It will be a tough fixture but Manchester City will come out from their trip with the three points on offer. Bet9ja has valued a City win at odds of 1.50 and there is value to be had.

Cercle Brugge vs St. Truiden Prediction

Goals – Over 2.5

We travel to the Belgian Jupiler League for our Over/Under 2.5 selection. Whenever mid table sides meet, there are unexpected results and we are hoping that case is bucked when Cercle Brugge host St. Truiden.

Both sides need to pick up the pace in the Jupiler League and this is a potential six-pointer. We expect goals belying the side’s tendency to stay back and defend against more established sides.

Bet 365 has favorable odds of 1.66 for the Over 2.5 and we are backing this selection.

Aston Villa vs. Sheffield United Prediction

Both teams to score – Yes

We should learn from our mistake yesterday and we will move again for our next selection. Let’s return to the Premier League where Aston Villa take on Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder’s side were lethargic in their season opener against Wolves but will look to turn the tide. They are against an enterprising Villa side that finally seems to have a settled squad.

Both teams should be able to test each other and this is what we are hoping for. Bet365 is offering odds of 1.90 and we feel there is value to be had.

Milan vs. Bologna Prediction

Anytime Goalscorer – Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to show how age is just a number. Since returning to the Rossoneri in January, he has continued to show he can still deliver and it’s no surprise he got a contract extension. He already grabbed a goal for this season against Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League qualifiers and we expect him to carry on from there. We are talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic and he should be in action against Bologna.

Similar to his goal-scoring start in cup ties, the big Swede will be gunning to start the Serie A season in style. Bet365 is offering value in his selection with odds of 1.61 and we are tailing it.
