Yesterday was another eventful day in the Champions League. Our tips from the featured match all came through with Bayern claiming an emphatic 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid. That also saw the over 2.5 goal market come through for that game.
In our straight win picks, we saw one of the biggest shocks with Real Madrid stunned at the Bernabeu by Shakthar Donetsk. Inter also failed to win and recorded a 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach. Elsewhere, Manchester City came from behind to claim a 3-1 win over Porto.
Inter and Real Madrid also served us well with the goal market but Liverpool and Ajax disappointed in that regard with one own-goal proving to be the difference.
We’ve seen some success in the goalscorers prediction of late and yesterday was another good day. Aguero and Lukaku both scored as predicted but Benzema failed to find the back of the net. Not surprising, giving he only came on as a second half substitute.
Without much ado, the Europa League is here and there are some potentially good games on ground as well. Let’s take a look at some of the best picks.
Rapid Vienna vs Arsenal Prediction
Arsenal to win
Arsenal begin their latest Europa League adventure with a trip to Rapid Vienna on Thursday, aiming to improve on last season’s disappointing early exit.
The Gunners crashed out at the first knockout stage last time out but are among the favourites to go all the way this time, though this could be a tricky opening test for them. Arsenal come off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and a win will be on their mind for sure.
This is now Arsenal’s fourth attempt at trying to win the Europa League, having previously reached the semi-finals and finished runners-up in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Rapid Vienna will not come as easy opponents especially given the venue of the game. The Austrian giants have won their last three games in all competitions. We expect a rotated side from the Gunners but we’re still tipping them to claim a win. Bet365 have 1.58 odds, Bet9ja 1.62 and BetKing 1.65.
Under 3.5 goals
Given Arsenal might not put out their best team, it may be a more cautious approach from the Premier League side. No matter how the game would go, it’s not looking like a high scoring affair on the cards. Bet9ja have 1.46 odds, Betking have 1.50 odds and Betway have 1.51 odds.
Straight wins
Napoli have started their season in good fashion with three out of four league wins. They look to be on a good run of form and will be eyeing a good start to their Europa League campaign. On the other hand, AZ Alkmaar have drawn all four of their games this season. We’re tipping Napoli to win this one. Bet9ja and Bet365 have 1.26 odds while Betking have 1.28 odds.
Tottenham come off the back of a shocking came where they messed up a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with West Ham. LASK have won six of their nine games in the Austrian League this season but they’ll be facing a side eager to win. We expect the Tottenham quality to overpower their Austrian opponents and record a win. Betway have 1.28 odds, Bet9ja has 1.30 and BetKing has 1.32 odds.
High flying AS Roma romped to an emphatic 5-2 thrashing of Benevento at the weekend in Serie A with Edin Dzeko bagging a brace and Carles Perez scoring a superb individual goal. They’ll be hoping to continue in the same vein today against last season’s Swiss Super League winners. Young Boys are currently on an unbeaten run of six games in all competitions but will be missing some players due to coronavirus. Roma are expected to claim the victory. Betway, Betking and Bet9ja all have 2.35 odds for this.
Leicester go into this game coming off the back of two losses. Their most recent one came at the hands of high-flying Aston Villa last weekend. Their Ukrainian opponents Zorya Luhansk are not in the best form as well having drawn their last two games. Ahead of the Foxes game with Arsenal at the weekend, we expect them to get back to winning ways at the King Power stadium. Bet9ja has 1.35 odds, Betway has 1.36 odds and Betking has 1.40 odds.
Over 2.5 goals
Tottenham have had no problems scoring goals this season and it’s another time we expect them to deliver. They’ve also had lots of high scoring fixtures this season already and they are easy candidates for the goal market. Bet9ja have 1.38 odds, Bet365 1.40 and BetKing 1.45 odds.
Celtic head into their Europa League opener in low spirits after a crushing 2-0 defeat at home to arch rivals Rangers at the weekend. They face an in-form Milan side and it could be a tough game for them. Milan are unbeaten in all competitive competitions since March. They have also scored exactly two goals in each of their last four away games and we expect a good goal-scoring affair. A good value exists here as Bet9ja have odds of 1.85, Betway 1.87 and BetKing 1.90.
We already tipped Napoli to win and we expect a number of goals in their game against AZ Alkmaar as well. They have particularly impressed with their impressive scoring record, having netted twelve goals so far, six of which have come in the thumping win over Genoa earlier in the campaign. The bookies have 1.42 odds for this event.
Anytime goalscorers
Eddie Nketiah
The Englishman is expected to lead the Gunners frontline as he usually does in cup competitions. The youngster has a thing for scoring in cup competitions and he’s a good value shout to do so. Bet9ja has 2.50 odds while Betking has it better at 2.75 odds.
Ibrahimovic
The big Swede has shown that age is just a number. At the age of 39, he continues to show he can deliever at the top level. With four league goals this season, he is currently the joint top-scorer in the Serie A. He’s fresh from bagging a brace against Inter at the weekend and he’s a good shout to get a goal once again. Bet9ja has a decent 2.00 odds while Betking has 2.25 odds.
Son
Of all the times we’ve tipped him to get on the score sheet, he’s only failed to do so once. As long as he starts the game, he’s fast becoming the best bet to score for Tottenham. Bet9ja are offering 2.03 odds while Betking have 2.30 odds.
Osimhen
The Nigerian forward bagged his first goal in Napoli colors at the weekend. The 21-year-old has looked sharp so far this season and he’ll be looking to add more goals now that he’s finally opened his account. Bet9ja have 1.75 odds while Betking have 1.80 odds.
