26/06/2021 Euro 2020 Daily Predictions

Wales and Denmark face off on Saturday in the first Euro 2020 last-16 tie.

The Red Dragons finished runners-up to Italy in their group before the Danes roared back from two defeats to finish behind Belgium in Group B.

Wales are looking to emulate the side of 2016 who reached the semi-finals but find themselves in the villain role as they look to deny a Denmark team still coming to terms with Christian Eriksen’s on-field cardiac arrest.

With the tournament now starting to take shape, we will continue with the best betting tips and predictions for the day, starting with the two interesting games we have on the cards tonight.

Wales vs Denmark Betting Predictions

Denmark win or Draw

Denmark have struggled a bit defensively in the last five matches; they have just one clean sheet, and both sides have scored in four. They however have an impressive attack and while they may struggle to cope with the Welsh attack too, they will for sure be the stronger side. Wales will miss the impressive Ampadu, and with their defensive numbers, they’d have wished to have their best men available. It could yet be a tough encounter but all directions are pointing to the fact that Denmark would affect defeat. Add all of the above to the fact that the Danes are high on confidence after their impressive win last time out against Russia. Bet9ja and Bet365 have 1.18 odds while 1xbet have 1.22.

Both teams to score

Both teams scored when these two nations last locked horns in 2018, a game Denmark won by two goals to one. Wales have only conceded more than one goal in one of their last six international matches and pride themselves on having a strong defence, but Denmark scored four goals against Russia in their final group game and both teams have scored in three of the Scandiavians’ last five fixtures. Wales may not have threatened much against the impenetrable Italy but their attacking display against Turkey was very encouraging. They have scored in seven of their last ten matches and with Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Dan James all in fine form right now they should be able to find the net. Bet9ja have 2.20 odds, Bet365 have 2.25 and 1xbet have 2.44.

Over 2.5 goals

Matches between these two countries don’t always produce a lot of goals but the last two that did both ended in 2-1 score-lines. Three of Denmark’s last six outings have seen over 2.5 goals scored with the Danes scoring four goals against Russia last time out. However, Wales won’t prove as easy to penetrate as the Russians did and as Turkey and Switzerland found out, Wales have goals in them. However it may be, there should be some goals in here. Bet365 have 2.50 odds, Bet9ja have 2.52 and 1xbet have 2.54.

Italy vs Austria Betting Predicstions

Italy to win

Italy are in the midst of a winning and clean sheets run that spans back 11-matches. Yet to concede at Euro 2020 and winning all their group games, you can see why we’re backing Italy to win against an Austria side that lost 2-0 in their toughest group game against the Netherlands. Austria have failed to score in four of their last six matches and now face a really strong and confident Italy defence. It looks likely Italy will continue their winning run again. Bet365 have 1.45 odds, Bet9ja have 1.50 and 1xbet have 1.51.

Over 2.5 Goals

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in four of Italy’s last five matches, with the Italians winning two of their group games by three goals to nil. Two of Austria’s last six international matches have produced over 3.5 goals with one of those being a 4-0 defeat to Denmark. Another reason we are expecting goals in this game is down to the fact that four of the last six meetings between these two nations have witnessed at least three goals being scored. Bet9ja have 2.04 odds, Bet365 have 2.10 and 1xbet have 2.21.

Anytime Goalscorer

Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale is yet to find the back of the net at Euro 2020 but we feel that this is the game he will finally score. Bale is a man for the big occasions and the 31-year-old has been instrumental in Wales’ progression into the knockout stage, all he is missing is a goal. Bale has scored 33-goals in 95 caps for his country and has come close to scoring in every game so far. Bet365 have 3.60 odds while Bet9ja have 4.00.

Yussuf Poulsen
Poulsen’s record in front of goal is far from stellar but he is a striker who brings the best out of his team-mates. The RB Leipzig forward only managed to score five goals in the Bundesliga last season, but proved how dangerous he can be against Russia, capitalizing on a defensive mix-up to double his team’s lead, and he now has two goals at Euro 2020. The 27-year-old also found the back of the net against Belgium, and with momentum behind him, he looks a great bet to score. Poulsen was substituted early during the win over Russia and he should be fresh and raring to go in Amsterdam this weekend. Bet9ja have 3.50 odds while Bet365 have 4.00.

Ciro Immobile

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has scored in both his appearances for Italy at Euro 2020, against Turkey and Switzerland, before he was rested for Sunday’s final group clash with Wales. The 31-year-old will almost certainly return to Mancini’s starting XI on Saturday and he is a man in form, as he has scored in five of his six international appearances this year, the only exception being when he was used as a late substitute against Bulgaria in March. Immobile has also scored an astonishing 64 club goals over the last two seasons with Lazio, while his conversion rate at Euro 2020 is one of the best, as his two goals have come from just three shots on target. Bet365 have 2.20 odds while Bet9ja have 2.70.

Marko Arnautovic

Austria look like they will keep the 4-3-3 line-up used in their last game after struggling with three at the back. This means David Alaba will have more freedom to go forward from left-back, with Stefan Lainer on the other side. Marko Arnautovic will likely start in a front three alongside Julian Baumgartlinger and Martin Hinteregger. Arnautovic will always remain an aerial threat and a quality man in David Alaba whipping in crosses from the left flank could prove to be pivotal. Bet365 have 4.75 odds while Bet9ja have 5.25.
