26-08-23 Daily Football Predictions: Arsenal vs Fulham

Betting Tips

In game week three of the 2023–24 Premier League season, Arsenal will host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon to maintain their recent dominance in London derbies. In their most recent meetings in the capital, the two teams had different outcomes: Mikel Arteta’s team defeated Crystal Palace 1-0, while the Cottagers lost to Brentford 3-0 at home.

Arsenal vs Fulham

This weekend sees the return of the Premier League, with Fulham facing Mikel Arteta’s excellent Arsenal team in a crucial match at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

In the Premier League standings, Fulham is currently in 13th place and has not played well this year. The away team will need to put in a lot of effort to win this game after suffering a devastating 3-0 loss to Brentford the previous week.

Fulham defeated Everton admirably in the opening match at Liverpool, winning 1-0. However, they succumbed to Brentford too easily at home, losing 0-3. The biggest mystery is whether Jimenez, who had numerous injury issues, will be able to adequately replace Mitrovic, who relocated to Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia. Many new players in this club should fit in. It will take a few more weeks to determine Fulham’s season-long objective.

Arsenal, on the other hand, is now in third place in the league table and has had a good year. The Gunners defeated Crystal Palace by a narrow 1-0 margin in their most recent contest, and they’ll try to improve on that performance this weekend.

Arsenal showed that they will be serious again in the race for the top of the table, but maybe also contenders for the title like last season. The Gunners are one of the three teams at the very start that achieved both victories, along with Brighton and reigning champions Manchester City.

Verdict

Arsenal will be serious about giving Manchester City a fight for their money this season with the fantastic roster they have at their disposal. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, who have matured over the previous year, will want to establish themselves this weekend.

Although Fulham can be formidable on occasion, they have a dismal track record at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal should be able to win this game because they are the superior team on paper.

Last season, the Gunners won both league games, including their last encounter, which they won 3-0 at Craven Cottage in March.

Over the course of two games, Fulham has already faced 17 shots on goal and given up a sizable 36 opportunities overall. Despite their excellent start, Arsenal have yet to fully find their groove. However, if they can create a couple of chances on Saturday, they should be able to win easily.

Eddie Nketiah has one goal so far this season and the Arsenal striker looks a good contender for an anytime strike this weekend. While the Arsenal attacker did go on to earn his club the penalty kick that culminated in the game-winning goal, Nketiah may have felt a touch unlucky when he struck the post against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

This Sunday, Nketiah will be back at their Emirates base, and I’m pleased to pick him to either score or assist against a Fulham team that allowed three goals to Brentford last weekend.
