Yesterday was a telling day in the Champions League. Some results followed the script and a few didn’t.
In the straight wins, Bayern only ‘struggled’ to claim a 2-1 victory while City brushed aside Marseille with a 3-0 score line. Atalanta and Real Madrid both came from two goals down to claim 2-2 draws while Inter played out a goalless draw.
The goal market was much kinder as all our over 2.5 picks completely came through yesterday. Over to the goal scorer market, two out of four picks came through with Sterling and Salah finding the back of the net.
Lots of good games to look forward to once again and we’re here to do what we do best; doing all the hardwork and giving you the best tips of the day.
Juventus vs Barcelona Prediction
Juventus are set to play hosts to Barcelona at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday in a highly-anticipated UEFA Champions League group stage encounter.
Juventus come into this game following a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona in Serie A on Sunday. Former Juventus striker Andrea Favili scored for Verona, only to be pegged back by a goal from Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski as the spoils were shared.
Barcelona, on the other hand, lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the latest edition of El Clasico on Saturday in La Liga. Prodigious youngster Ansu Fati scored the consolation goal for the Catalan side.
This fixture should have given us another Ronaldo vs Messi confrontation but sadly it is likely not happening with CR7 still declared unavailable by UEFA after his recent positive coronavirus test last Thursday. We will have to wait until the return game at Nou Camp to see it happen.
In six head-to-head encounters between the two sides, Barcelona hold the clear advantage. They have won three games, lost one and drawn two. The two clubs last faced each other way back in 2017 in the Champions League group stages. The match ended in a goalless draw at the Allianz Stadium. However, this is a different look for both sides and we can’t exactly say what to expect.
Both teams to score
Both sides are out to get back to winning ways given their last results and we can expect a good show from the game. Bar individual brilliance from any player at all, especially a certain Lionel Messi, a clear winner is not easy to predict. It’s a game that could easily go either way but we’re tipping both sides to score. Bet9ja have 1.58 odds for this while BetKing have 1.60.
Over 2.5 goals
Asides tipping both teams to score, this game has a good tendency to bring a good number of goals as well and we’re tipping this match to see at least three goals at the Allianz Stadium. Bet9ja are offering 1.73 odds while Betking have 1.80.
Straight wins
Chelsea take on FC Krasnodar in an away trip. The Blues are huge favorites to win this one and they’ll fancy their chances of a return to winning ways after two consecutive draws on the road. Bet9ja have 1.40 odds while Betking have 1.43.
Elsewhere, PSG also take on Basaksehir in an away trip as well. The French giants are fresh from a 4-0 win over Dijon at the weekend. Given their surprise loss to Manchester United on the first Champions League group stage game, they will no doubt go all out to make this game their first win in the competition this term. Not so much with Bet9ja offering 1.19 odds and BetKing offering 1.23.
Sevilla take on Rennes at home and the Spanish side are the favourites to win this one. They suffered a shock loss to Eibar in La Liga at the weekend and this could be a good chance to get back to winning ways. It won’t be a walkover in any way but we’re tipping Sevilla to win. Bet9ja have 1.58 odds while BetKing have 1.65.
Over 2.5
Manchester United vs Leipzig at Old Trafford could be one of the most entertaining games today as well. Both teams have good enough quality to claim a win either side and we’re expecting that to translate to goals as well. On paper, United could win but it’s safer to go for this option. Bet9ja have 1.70 odds while Betking have 1.75.
We already tipped Chelsea to win Krasnodar and we should see that game come with a lot of goals too. It’s pretty straight-forward why we’re tipping this to happen. Bet9ja have 1.64 odds while Betking have 1.67 odds.
In similar fashion, we’re seeing PSG going all the way against Bakasehir and their attack line will be licking their lips at the protest of a couple goals. Bet9ja have 1.36 odds and Betking are slightly ahead with 1.40 odds.
Elsewhere, Dortmund take on Zenit at home and it’s a game that’s not so predictable on paper. With the lineup from both sides, it’s a game that could bring a good number of goals on show as well. Bet9ja have 1.38 odds while Betking have 1.45.
Anytime Goal scorer
Morata
In the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Spaniard continues to shoulder the scoring burden for Juventus. Barcelona doesn’t boast the best defence at the moment and Morata could fancy his chances at grabbing a goal this evening. Bet9ja are offering a massive 2.90 odds while Betking have 3.25 odds.
Timo Werner
He’s yet to hit the ground running but has already shown us what we know he can be all about in a Blues jersey (throwback to his brace against Southampton two weeks ago). No disrespect to Krasnodar but the German will surely stand a good chance of scoring a goal should he start the fixture tonight. Bet9ja have 2.10 odds for this while Betking have 2.20.
Mbappe
He’s not even in the most consistent form yet by his own standards yet he already has six goals from six games this season. That’s how good he can be. He’s yet to score in the Champions League this term and this fixture could be a good one to open his account. Bet9ja have 1.60 odds while Betking have 1.63.
Haaland
The Norwegian is another youngster on top form. Haaland has eight goals from eight games this term including one in the Champions League. If Dortmund will stand a chance of winning this game, there’s a good chance their goal-machine will get himself on the score sheet as well. Both Bet9ja and Betking are offering 1.60 odds for him to score.
