29/06/2021 Euro 2020 Daily Predictions

At the time of writing, four teams have already made their way to the quarter-finals in what is shaping to be a very interesting Euro tournament so far. Holders Portugal were dumped out by Belgium while one of the shocks of the round saw Czech Republic thump Netherlands 3-0. Belgium and Italy will face off in the quarter-finals in what could be one of the most anticipated games of the tournament so far.

Without getting ahead of ourselves, there are still round of 16 games to be played as we approach the last eight of the tournament. As always, we’ll be bringing you the best betting tips and predictions from today’s action.

England vs Germany Prediction

Germany to win

Among the teams that advanced to the second round, England were the lowest scorers. There’s an emphasis on defence in the team and here they get to face a side with a very good attack and it promises to be a cracker. In their last two matches, Germany have come from behind and scored six goals and it is this goal threat that England will have to deal with. England’s bluntness in attack will come to haunt them here. While we can’t rule out England scoring, they’ll really have to improvise to get the right balance in defence and attack. Going by the amount of goals scored recently, we are backing the Germans for a win here. Bet9ja and Bet365 have 2.90 odds while 1xbet have 3.02.

Both teams to score

England have struggled for goals so far in the tournament with Raheem Sterling getting both – one against Croatia and the other against the Czech Republic. However, the bookies are favouring both teams to score for obvious reasons. Germany have only failed to score against France, and scored six in their next two clashes with Portugal and Hungary. The bookies may be swayed by Germany’s defensive issues as they have already conceded five, which could give England hope. Bet365 have 1.83 odds, Bet9ja have 1.85 and 1xbet have 1.88.

Sweden vs Ukraine Prediction

Sweden to win

Sweden might have only won one of their last four meetings with Ukraine but so far at Euro 2020, the Scandinavians have really impressed. After securing clean sheets in their opening two group games against Spain and Slovakia, Sweden then scored three times against Poland, showing off their attacking ability. Ukraine haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet in the tournament so far and have relied on their attack to get them enough points to progress, but this Swedish defence are more than capable of shutting out the Ukraine forwards and nullifying their biggest strength. Ukraine have lost seven of their last eight games at the European Championship and that further plays into our prediction. Bet365 have 2.40 odds, Bet9ja have 2.47 and 1xbet have 2.49.

Under 2.5 Goals

Under 2.5 goals have been produced in three of the four previous encounters between these two countries and we’re expecting another low-scoring affair on Tuesday. Four of Sweden’s and three of Ukraine’s last six international matches have also witnessed fewer than three goals being scored, so you can see why we’re favouring a tight and tense 90-minutes between the pair. Bet365 have 1.53 odds, Bet9ja have 1.56 and 1xbet have 1.61.

Anytime Goalscorer

Harry Kane

It’s been well documented about Harry Kane’s lack of goals and contribution so far, but he’s too good for that and he should get plenty of opportunities from a generous German defence certainly on the evidence so far. Germany have conceded quite a lot so far in the competition and this could come as a good chance for Kane to break his duck. Despite his lack of goals so far, he remains a top shout to get on the score-sheet as expected. Bet365 have 2.37 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have 2.75.

Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz has yet to fire on all cylinders yet either really, but unlike Kane, he has two goals to his name at this tournament. He has been making the right runs so far and he also showed great positioning against Portugal. He is surely high on confident at the moment and you can expect that he’ll want to continue where he left off. The odds for the Chelsea man to score in London look very attractive. Bet365 have 3.60 while Bet9ja have 4.25.

 Emil Forsberg

Emil Forsberg has already scored 3-goals at Euro 2020 and we’re predicting that the RB Leipzig midfielder will find the back of the net against Ukraine as well. Forsberg has certainly been Sweden’s standout player at Euro 2020 and he is clearly brimming with confidence. The midfielder makes late runs into the box and can score from range, but it is his composure in and around the opponent’s penalty area that makes him such a threat. Bet365 have 4.00 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have 4.25.

Andriy Yarmolenko

Yarmolenko and Yaremchuk with two goals apiece have contributed to four of Ukraine’s goals in the group stages. However, Yarmolenko in particular has always looked like he could make something happen in attack. Against Sweden, it might be a game of few chances for Ukraine and it could yet come down to how well they can bury those chances. If one man will find the back of the net for and company, it’s likely to be Yarmolenko.  Bet9ja have 4.25 odds for him to score while Bet365 have 4.50.
