Following a five-goal extravaganza in their first meeting last week, Molde and Galatasaray will resume hostilities on Tuesday in the second leg of their Champions League qualifying playoff matchup.
Okan Buruk’s team returned from Scandinavia with a 3-2 victory under their belts, and they now welcome Molde to Istanbul with the intention of completing the task they began at Aker Stadion.

Molde will be frustrated because despite taking the early lead in the first meeting, they lost it. Despite a second-half attempt by Kristoffer Haugen, they were unable to capitalize on Martin Ellingsen’s early goal, and the Turkish team seemed to possess that additional piece of talent.
Although manager Erling Moe will believe their effort merited something, the outcome is consistent with Molde’s recent unpredictable performances. Molde’s previous five games in all competitions have resulted in only one victory for them.
Verdict
The Norwegian champions’ victory at home has been crucial to their progression at this stage of the Champions League qualifying process after they lost both of their previous two away legs.
Since they lost the first leg at home in this play-off match, their hopes seem bleak, and their record of five losses in their last six UEFA matches after doing so indicates that they have little chance of pulling off an unexpected victory.
Galatasaray might find the visitors don’t put up much of a fight after giving it their all in the first leg, where Molde’s 3-2 setback made it one win in their previous five games.
At Rams Park, the hard-hitting Torreira is back in the lineup, and Ziyech might get an opportunity to make an early impression. The hosts should return to form defensively and display their outstanding offensive firepower to advance to the group stage.
