The Premier League is back in action this weekend with a new slate of games, beginning on Sunday at Anfield when Tottenham Hotspur and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team square off.

The Serie A is back in action this weekend with a new set of games, and on Sunday. Inter Milan will square off against Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio team at the San Siro. Lazio is in second position in Serie A right now, and they have been playing well so far this year. Last week, the away team suffered a humiliating 1-0 loss at the hands of Torino and will need to recover in this match.
Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur
Liverpool is experiencing one of the worst seasons in recent memory. They fluctuated in and out of the top seven and the European competitions during the entire season. After a few successful wins, Liverpool is currently in seventh place, just one point behind Aston Villa in sixth place and Tottenham in fifth.
Liverpool had the advantage of playing one fewer game than the other two teams. The Reds have improved since entering the Premier League, and they are now unbeaten in five games. Even still, the Champions League seems far away because they trail Manchester United by seven points and have played one more game.
Tottenham will likely end this season in the top six or seven teams and qualify for Europe the next year, but they will fail to win a trophy. They last achieved success in 2008 when they won the League Cup.
The Spurs were in the top four for a significant portion of the season, but a bad run in the final two months seriously complicated their situation and made it likely that they would not qualify for the Champions League the following year.
Verdict
In the Premier League, Liverpool had won three straight games prior to their matchup with Tottenham on Sunday at Anfield. Liverpool defeated West Ham in the middle of the week to win their third straight Premier League game, but the Reds will need to play flawlessly moving forward if they are to have any chance of finishing in the top four at the end.
We think that Tottenham will suffer a new defeat on the road after the recent trash they took from Newcastle with 6:1. They will not suffer such a massive defeat but Liverpool seems to be in their best form of the season to date and they will have the advantage ahead of this match
Tottenham fought back in the second half to draw with Manchester United at home on Thursday, but they appeared weary by the end of that 2-2 draw and may not have the energy to take on an upbeat Liverpool team that has only suffered one loss at Anfield all season.
Mohamed Salah, a frequent nemesis of Tottenham, scored both goals when the Reds defeated Tottenham 2-1 in the capital back in November. The 30-year-old has scored seven Premier League goals against Tottenham overall during his tenure with the Reds, and on Sunday, the productive winger appears to be a strong contender in the anytime goalscorer market.

Inter Milan vs Lazio
The home side has not performed up to par this year. Inter still has a chance to secure a place in the Champions League for the 2023–24 season even though they are only two points behind fourth-placed AC Milan. Only three of the previous 11 games across all competitions were victories for Simone Inzaghi’s squad.
They defeated Juventus 1-0 at home in the Coppa Italia game they played before. Although the game was fairly even, the home team performed well enough to earn all three points.
Lazio are having a fantastic year. Lazio won’t be able to overtake Napoli as the league’s top team, but they should finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. Four of the past five games were victories for Lazio. They suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Torino last weekend. At the time, the home team didn’t play well, and as a result, they lost.
Verdict
Lazio are heavy underdogs for their trip to Inter Milan on Sunday even though they are favorites to finish second in Serie A this season. In their eight games this season against the top five teams in the division, Lazio has won 18 of the 24 possible points, including the three they earned in a 3-1 victory against Inter in August.
When you also take into account the fact that Inter has lost five of their past six league games, picking Lazio at about even money in the double-chance market seems like a no-brainer.
Recent seasons have seen an increase in the competitiveness of Inter Milan’s matches against Lazio, with goals being scored in every single one of their last six encounters.
