Daily Football Predictions-08-05-2022

It was an interesting round of fixtures and results yesterday ahead of the final two weeks of the 2021/22 domestic campaign.

Once again, we continue with league action where the season is rounding up and we’ll be aiming to end on a high as we bring you the likely betting tips and predictions to go with from all of the day’s action.

Straight Wins

Manchester City crashed out of the Champions League semi-final after they conceded two late goals in Madrid which saw the match go to extra-time. Real Madrid went on to score a penalty to win the tie. Newcastle provide the opposition in the Premier League this weekend and we’re expecting the visitors to face an angry and determined Manchester City side. The Magpies will have to be at their best to get anything out of the game. Manchester City have won each of their last five encounters with Newcastle, and the hosts have also won four of their last six outings in all competitions.  Newcastle have lost two of their last six league games and failed to score last time out against Liverpool. Bet9ja have 1.70 odds, Paripesa have 1.18 odds and 1xBet have 1.18 odds.

Arsenal are closing in on the final Champions League place with a two-point lead over Tottenham and just four games in the Premier League remaining. Leeds provide the opposition at the Emirates on Sunday and the visitors arrive desperate for points in their bid to escape relegation. The Gunners have won six of their last seven games against Leeds in all competitions, and Arteta’s men have won each of their last three outings in the Premier League, beating West Ham, Man Utd, and Chelsea. Leeds lost last time out against Man City 4-0. The Gunners should win this one. Bet9ja have 1.48 odds, Paripesa have 1.49 odds and 1xBet have 1.49 odds.

AZ host Ajax in a potentially crucial Eredivisie encounter in Alkmaar on Sunday. Ajax seek to take a step closer to their title with a victory this weekend. Ajax hold a four-point advantage at the summit of the Eredivisie over rivals PSV and the champions can take a step closer to successfully defending their crown with a victory at AZ on Sunday. Erik ten Hag’s side have won an incredible 14 of their last 15 league assignments and they eased to a 2-0 triumph when they last visited Alkmaar for a KNVB Cup clash in March. The hosts have dropped points in four of their last six matches, so it’s logical to back Ajax here. Bet9ja have 1.72 odds, Paripesa have 1.75 odds and 1xBet have 1.75 odds.

Leipzig had been going through a streak of wins but lost the momentum in recent games, having lost three of their previous four attempts. However, the home stadium has proven beneficial for them where they won three of the last four duels. On the other hand, Augsburg have conceded three defeats in their last four league outings. The Red Bulls are also undefeated against Fuggerstadter in the recent five H2Hs and won four in that course. For these reasons, we predict Leipzig to get back on the winning track in this game. Bet9ja have 1.28 odds, Paripesa have 1.29 odds and 1xBet have 1.29 odds.

Stuttgart travel to Allianz Arena where the relaxed title winners Bayern Munich await their arrival. It should be an easy affair for the Bavarians who have nothing to play for, while the Swabians struggle in the relegation playoff slots and are four points away from safety. Stuttgart is on the rollercoaster ride of draws and defeats and lost three of the last six games. On the other hand, Bayern Munich have won four of their last five league games. The Bavarians hold a beautiful streak of eight unbeaten- games in their home stadium. Adding more, Bayern Munich also won all of the recent five H2Hs against the Swabians. A victory for the Bavarians seems visible at the end of this game. Bet9ja have 1.28 odds, Paripesa have 1.28 odds and 1xBet have 1.28 odds.

Over 2.5 Goals

Eintracht Frankfurt look to find their Bundesliga winning streak when they host Borussia Monchengladbach. The teams flowed goals in the recent H2Hs and produced a total of at least four goals in all of the last five meetings. Frankfurt have rattled the net five times in the previous four outings while the Colts scored nine goals in the same course. Monchengladbach also netted the ball at least twice in the last four away games successively. We believe to see a total of over 2.5 goals again in this meeting. Bet9ja have 1.40 odds, Paripesa have 1.40 odds and 1xBet have 1.40 odds.

Atalanta are hoping to finish the Serie A campaign strongly and could still finish as high as 5th-place if they win their remaining three league games. The bottom half of the table Spezia provide the opposition on Sunday and the hosts are looking to avoid a fourth straight league defeat. At least three goals have been scored and both teams have found the back of the net in each of the last two meetings between Atalanta and Spezia. Atalanta claimed a 5-2 win when the pair locked horns earlier in the season. Four of Spezia’s last six fixtures have witnessed over 2,5 goals, while the same can be said for four of Atalanta’s last six outings. Bet9ja have 1.49 odds, Paripesa have 1.50 odds and 1xBet have 1.50 odds.

Ajax’s defensive standards have slipped of late and as a result, their fixtures have routinely been high-scoring affairs. Indeed, 12 of their last 14 fixtures in the Eredivisie have produced over 2.5 goals and a similar outcome is on the cards when de Godenzonen locks horns with an AZ outfit heavily sprinkled with talented forwards. Two of the last three league tussles between the clubs delivered a minimum of three goals and bettors should expect more of the same on Sunday. Bet9ja have 1.60 odds, Peripesa have 1.62 odds and 1xBet have 1.62 odds.

Although Villarreal lost to Liverpool in the Champions League semis, they showed a lot of heart and quality in that matchup, as they did throughout the entire campaign. The Yellow Submarine will not play in that competition next season, but they are fighting for European football. Three of the last five head-to-head duels between Villarreal and Sevilla have gone over 2.5 total goals, so we wouldn’t be surprised if that happens on Sunday too. After all, Villarreal averaged 2.56 goals per game in La Liga this season, although Sevilla averaged just 2.29 goals per game in the league until now. Bet9ja have 2.06 odds, Paripesa have 2.07 odds and 1xBet have 2.07 odds.

Feyenoord and PSV meet for a showpiece showdown in the Eredivisie on Sunday. PSV need a win in Rotterdam to keep their slim title hopes alive. Feyenoord and PSV have been two of the Eredivisie’s most thrilling teams to watch this season, ranking third and second respectively on the list of the league’s most prolific outfits so far. 68% and 77% of Feyenoord and PSV’s league fixtures in 2021/22 so far have produced over 2.5 goals, including the sides’ most recent meeting in September. Sunday’s tussle in Rotterdam has the makings of another thriller. Bet9ja have 1.50 odds, Paripesa have 1.53 odds and 1xBet have 1.53 odds.

Anytime Goalscorers

Gabriel Jesus

The future of Jesus has been discussed in recent months with rumors that the player will be allowed to leave Man City in the summer. However, the Brazilian forward has been in good form towards the end of the season and could play his part in securing the league title. Jesus has eight goals in the league this season but has scored six of those goals in his last four appearances in the Premier League and we’re backing him to score against Newcastle on Sunday. Bet9ja have 2.35 odds while Paripesa have 1.95 odds.

Saka

Saka is the top scorer for Arsenal this season in the Premier League with 11-goals, just two of which have come from the penalty spot. The 20-year-old England international is in good form in front of goal with four goals in his last ten league games. Bet9ja have 2.65 odds while Paripesa have 2.50 odds.

Gnabry

A goal in Bayern’s last home game for Serge Gnabry secured his best-ever scoring Bundesliga campaign (G13) – three of his goals came in their 5-0 reverse win. He would surely relish a start here and would be amongst the goals as he has been their most in-form player for the past few weeks. He has the second-most goals for the club in the Bundesliga, with two goals in his previous three games. Bet9ja have 2.05 odds while Paripesa have 2.05 odds.

Pasalic

Atalanta’s top scorer this season is Croatia’s Pašalic with 12 goals in Serie A alone and we’re backing the midfielder to score against Spezia this weekend. Pašalic is enjoying his highest-ever scoring season in the league, surpassing the 11-goals he netted in the 2013/14 season for Hajduk Split, and has found the back of the net in each of his last three league games for Atalanta. Bet9ja have 2.75 odds while Paripesa have 2.33 odds.

Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe is the leading scorer in Ligue 1 and with just three games left, the French international is expected to bag another golden boot. However, he is only three goals ahead of second and third-best scorers. We expect Mbappe to find the net in this game to take his goal tally beyond 24 goals so far in 35 games. Mbappe has been consistent in finding the net, scoring nine times in the last six games. Bet9ja have 1.70 odds while Paripesa have 1.52 odds.
