The mid-season break is here and teams across Europe would be wrapping up all the league games just before the start of the World Cup in the coming weeks. The national team selection has already begun with a lot of exciting faces added to each squad and we can’t wait to see them start for their respective nations.
Here today are a few solid selections from the weekend games.
Straight Wins.
Newcastle continues their push for the Champions League places at home to Chelsea on Saturday. The visitors had been tipped to challenge for the Premier League title this season but find themselves 13pts adrift of the league leaders and 5pts off the top four as things stand. Newcastle doesn’t have the best of records against Chelsea, especially in recent seasons, but form favors the hosts this weekend and we’re backing Howe’s men to secure all 3pts. The Magpies have won four of their last six matches in all competitions and look full of confidence right now. Chelsea has lost three of their last four matches in league and cup, ending Potter’s honeymoon, and we believe they will struggle at St James’ Park this weekend. Bet9ja have 2.35 odds, Paripesa have 2.35 odds and 1xBet have 2.35 odds.
After fourteen rounds, Napoli remains undefeated in Serie A. Not only that, but they’ve managed to win twelve of those fourteen games and that puts them convincingly at the top of the standings. In addition to this, Napoli also reached the next stage of the Champions League, so things have gone pretty great for them so far. The home team only failed to win in two of their fourteen matches in Serie A so far and they are first in the standings with a significant advantage over the closest rivals. Meanwhile, Udinese is without a win in the last six games, although they remain in a good position overall after their furious start of the season. Still, Napoli is the better team, in better form, they are hosting the game, and they beat Udinese in their last five meetings so, we expect the same to happen in this game. Bet9ja have 1.48 odds, Paripesa have 1.53 odds and 1xBet have 1.53 odds.
Red-hot RB Leipzig has won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions ahead of their trip to play Werder Bremen on Saturday. RB Leipzig is rattling up the Bundesliga standings like a freight train and their dominant 3-1 win over highflying Freiburg on Wednesday highlighted the confidence flowing through their ranks. Die Roten Bullen have won eight of their last nine assignments in all competitions and they have been scoring enough goals to blow most teams away. Werder Bremen stand in their way on Saturday, though we expect Marco Rose’s red-hot outfit to have too much firepower for their hosts and the fifth victory in six Bundesliga matches is on the cards for the visitors. Bet9ja have 1.88 odds, Paripesa have 1.92 odds and 1xBet have 1.92 odds.
The Premier League’s fourth-placed side Tottenham has the home advantage against Leeds this weekend where Conte’s men will be looking to get back on track after back-to-back defeats in league and cup. Leeds could move up one place and into 11th with a positive result against Spurs, the perfect way to head into the mid-season break. We’re backing Tottenham to come away with all 3pts this weekend against a Leeds side that has lost two of their last three away games. Tottenham has won three of their last four league games against the Yorkshire club, running out 4-0 victors when the pair last locked horns in February. Bet9ja have 1.66 odds, Paripesa have 1.67 odds and 1xBet have 1.67 odds.
PSV are on a roll after beating Ajax last weekend in Amsterdam, and to end the first part of the season, they are facing another team challenging for the title. PSV suffered three losses this season, but two of them could have been avoided, and represent the biggest negative mark on their season thus far. Those were losses against Cambuur and Groningen. However, PSV is looking good against the best teams in Eredivisie, they beat Feyenoord and Ajax, and now are facing the AZ Alkmaar team who lost its footing in recent weeks. Bet9ja have 1.53 odds, Paripesa have 1.55 odds and 1xBet have 1.55 odds.
Over 2.5
Ajax lost in the derby match against PSV, and earlier this week suffered another setback against Vitesse. They will try to regain some composure playing against one of the weakest teams in Eredivisie. Emmen and Ajax played five times between 2018 and 2021, Ajax won all of the games, and in every match, there were at least four goals scored. The last time they met Ajax won 4-0, and the highest-scoring match was a 5-2 Ajax away win. Bet9ja have 1.37 odds, Paripesa have 1.39 odds and 1xBet have 1.39 odds.
Schalke meets Bayern Munich in what promises to be a one-sided Bundesliga tussle at the VELTINS-Arena on Saturday. Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich should find beating the division’s bottom club Schalke a relatively straightforward task on Saturday evening, though the bookmakers think the same and match result markets are best avoided. Instead, a dip into the total goals arena is more worthwhile and we recommend backing over 2.5 of them to hit the net in Gelsenkirchen. Six of the Bavarians’ last seven league fixtures have featured four or more goals and Bayern put six goals past Werder Bremen in midweek. Another meaty win is on the menu here, so expect Schalke to be put to the sword. Bet9ja have 1.22 odds, Paripesa have 1.24 odds and 1xBet have 1.24 odds
West Ham hasn’t lost any of their last four meetings with Leicester in the Premier League and both teams head into Saturday’s clash with 14pts from their opening 14 league games. Both teams have struggled for consistency this season but the Foxes do appear to be on the up now so the World Cup couldn’t have come at a worse time for Rodgers’ men. At least three goals have been scored in each of the last six matches played between these two clubs and we’re expecting another goal-fest on Saturday. West Ham’s last three outings in the league and cup have witnessed over 2.5 goals scored, while the same can be said for two of the Foxes’ last four fixtures. Bet9ja have 1.88 odds, Paripesa have 1.98 odds and 1xBet have 1.98 odds.
Hertha Berlin welcomes Cologne to the Olympiastadion Berlin in Germany’s Bundesliga on Saturday, November 12th. Two sides struggling for consistency face off in the capital. While positive results have been difficult for Hertha to achieve, they have at least, been excellent value in the entertainment stakes in recent weeks and more net-shredding action is on the menu when Die Alte Dame host Cologne on Saturday. Hertha’s last six games in the Bundesliga averaged a healthy 3.5 goals per 90 minutes and it’s also worth noting that each of their meetings with Cologne last term produced four goals. There is plenty to chew on here and bettors are advised to consider backing over 2.5 goals to hit the net again at the Olympiastadion Berlin. Bet9ja have 1.66 odds, Paripesa have 1.73 odds and 1xBet have 1.73 odds.
Bournemouth host Everton for the second time in a week and after hammering the Toffees 4-1 in the League Cup, the Cherries will be confident about their chances of adding three more points to their Premier League on Saturday. Lampard played an entire second string in the midweek League Cup defeat so we are expecting a better performance from the Toffees this time around. We’re expecting goals in this game as so often is the case when Bournemouth and Everton lock horns. Five of the pair’s last six heads-to-heads have produced over 2.5 goals, including their midweek League Cup clash that saw the Cherries run out 4-1 winners. Four of Bournemouth’s last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals, while two of Everton’s last four outings have witnessed at least three goals scored. Bet9ja have 2.10 odds, Paripesa have 2.21 odds and 1xBet have 2.21 odds.
Anytime Goalscorers
Salah
Mo Salah was the hero for Liverpool in their last league game against Tottenham. The Egyptian striker netted twice in the capital as Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners. Salah is now on 6 league goals for the season, the same as Firmino, and we’re backing the African forward to score at least once against a leaky Southampton defense at Anfield. Bet9ja have 1.80 odds while Paripesa have 1.91 odds.
Serge Gnabry
Just about any Bayern forward would be an excellent choice in the anytime goalscorer stakes this weekend, though we like the look of Serge Gnabry’s odds to register in particular. The German international fired home a superb hattrick for Bayern in their thumping 6-1 triumph over Werder Bremen on Tuesday and with his confidence up, Gnabry should be a potentially lethal danger man for Die Roten again on Saturday. At close to evens, Gnabry is well worth backing here. Bet9ja have 2.05 odds while Paripesa have 1.85 odds.
Haaland
Haaland is a shoo-in for the Golden Boot award in the Premier League this season, providing he avoids a long-term injury, and we’re backing the young Norwegian star to add to his 18 Premier League goals on Saturday against Brentford. Haaland has netted 9-goals in his last 9 games in all competitions for Man City and now that he is back from injury, we’re backing the lanky speedster to score the first goal of the game against the Bees. Bet9ja have 1.38 odds while Paripesa have 1.40 odds.
Christopher Nkunku
Chelsea-bound Christopher Nkunku just cannot stop scoring at present and the talented French forward scored for the sixth appearance in a row when he found the net against Freiburg on Wednesday. The 24-year-old has now scored 12 times in 14 Bundesliga fixtures since the summer and the prolific attacker should have opportunities to bolster his numbers even further against Werder Bremen on Saturday. With that in mind, bettors are advised to back Nkunku to score anytime. Bet9ja have 2.35 odds while Paripesa have 2.00 odds.
Harry Kane
Harry Kane might not be the goalscorer everyone is talking about this season but England’s captain has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season. We’re backing Kane to score against Leeds before he heads to the World Cup in Qatar with England. The 29-year-old has scored 5-goals in his last 10-games for Spurs in all competitions, so you can see why we’re backing him to score again this weekend. Bet9ja have 2.00 odds while Paripesa have 2.04 odds.
