Daily Football Predictions-14-01-23

We have a full bill of matches for the first time in weeks since the resumption of games following the break from the FIFA World Cup. Top leagues in Europe have fully resumed with matches spanning across the leagues.

Today we have selected a list of possible outcomes in which we are confident and that we are sure our readers will find agreeable in the end.

Straight Wins.

Sparta continued to impress last week getting a point from PSV in Eindhoven, but now they will be in a role of a favorite against Excelsior. They are undefeated in their last four matches, and even though they are nine points away from the top, Sparta players and fans alike are dreaming about the title. Firstly, they need to win at home which they have done plenty of times this term. They are the fourth-best home team in the league with five wins in seven matches. On the other side of things, Excelsior is the second-worst away team with only a single win. Bet9ja have 1.54 odds, Paripesa have 1.55 odds and 1xBet have 1.55 odds.

Brentford could move into the top 6 this weekend if they win at home to Bournemouth and results elsewhere go in their favor. The Cherries are hovering just above the relegation zone in the Premier League right now and could do with putting an end to their current losing streak. Brentford has a good recent record against Bournemouth, picking up four wins from the pair’s last six competitive encounters. The last meeting between the two clubs might have ended goalless but we’re not expecting lightning to strike in the same place twice when the pair clash this weekend. Brentford head into the game having won their last two league games against Liverpool and West Ham, drawing their match before that with Tottenham, so the hosts are in good form. Bournemouth, on the other hand, has lost their last five matches in all competitions and needs to stop the rot before they end up in the relegation zone. Bet9ja have 1.66 odds, Paripesa have 1.67 odds and 1xBet have 1.67 odds.

Lyon and Strasbourg meet at the Groupama Stadium to battle it out for three points in Ligue 1 on Saturday, January 14th. Strasbourg faces another stiff test in France when they visit Lyon this weekend. Strasbourg is one of the favorites for the drop in Ligue 1 this season which comes as no surprise given their dismal record of just one victory in 18 top-flight matches in France, and they should offer little resistance to Lyon at the Groupama Stadium on Saturday. Strasbourg was beaten in each of their last two away assignments despite playing chunks of both games with a one-man advantage, so expect them to struggle again in this one. Bet9ja have 1.62 odds, Paripesa have 1.65 odds and 1xBet have 1.65 odds.

Everton just managed to avoid the relegation zone by four points last season, and they now appear destined to fight against it once more as they are currently ranked 18th. The Saints are facing a relegation fight right now, especially following consecutive losses to newly promoted teams Fulham and Nottingham Forest. However, Southampton enters this match with two cup victories under their belts, including a shocking EFL Cup victory over Manchester City. Everton has the potential in their squad to prevent Southampton from losing their fifth straight league game, despite the recent struggles of both of these teams. The Toffees also have a strong record at Goodison Park against Southampton; they are unbeaten in 17 home league meetings against Southampton and have won 12 of those games. Bet9ja have 2.28 odds, Paripesa have 2.32 odds and 1xBet have 2.32 odds.

After a slow start to the season which cost Julen Lopetegui his job, Sevilla seems to have found some form since the international break, winning three of their four games. They beat Getafe 2-1 at home last weekend, ending a six-game league winless run in the process, but also failed to keep a clean sheet for the 15th time in 16 La Liga outings. The home team enters this game after they managed to avoid a loss in the last six rounds in La Liga, winning two of those six matches. Meanwhile, Sevilla is barely above the relegation zone at the moment. That being said, the overall difference between the two teams is just three points. Also, Sevilla has a draw and a win in the last two games and they seem to be getting in form. Given that they are a much better team than Girona on paper, we can see Sevilla winning this game. Bet9ja have 2.93 odds, Paripesa have 3.14 odds and 1xBet have 3.14 odds.

Over 2.5

Just 1pt separates Brighton and Liverpool in the Premier League table and the Seagulls will be hoping to fly above their guests with a win this weekend. The last meeting between these two clubs was one to remember and we have high hopes of witnessing another action-packed 90 minutes on Saturday. The last time Brighton and Liverpool locked horns the pair produced a 6-goal thriller and four of the pair’s last seven league meetings have ended with over 2.5 goals being scored. Five of Brighton’s and each of Liverpool’s last six competitive and non-competitive matches in all competitions have witnessed at least three goals scored, adding further weight to our prediction for Saturday’s clash at the AmEx. Bet9ja have 1.54 odds, Paripesa have 1.57 odds and 1xBet have 1.57 odds.

Marseille has won four games on the spin in the league and cup ahead of a clash with a dangerous Lorient outfit on Saturday. Lorient who sit just three places behind Marseille (3rd) in the Ligue 1 table – are no pushovers and they will arrive at the Stade Orange Vélodrome ready to attack this weekend. Six of their nine league matches on the road this season have featured at least three goals and they will happily trade blows with OM in what should be an enthralling contest. With that considered, our second prediction advises considering backing over 2.5 goals to hit the net for the fourth straight encounter between the clubs. Bet9ja have 1.58 odds, Paripesa have 1.65 odds and 1xBet have 1.65 odds.

The two teams are only separated by a couple of points at the moment, with Osasuna currently ahead. However, Mallorca is the one that’s in better form recently, with four wins in the last six games. While Mallorca averaged 1.81 goals per game in the league this season, which is the lowest average of all teams, Osasuna isn’t that much ahead with an average of 2.00 goals per game so far. However, in the last five h2h meetings between Osasuna and Mallorca, we saw an average of 3.40 goals per game. With that in mind, our next prediction is for this match to go over 2.5 total goals. Bet9ja have 2.68 odds, Paripesa have 2.69 odds and 1xBet have 2.69 odds.

Volendam finally won their first away game last week, but now are eager to make sure that they connect wins for the first time this season. They have managed to win only four times this season in 15 games, but they are still close to the middle of the table with a seven-point cushion in front of the relegation-threatened teams. This is the second straight season when RKC is playing almost the same way. Both of these teams are at the very top when it comes to covering Over 2.5 Goals, they have ten of those games in 15 plays, including four out of their last five. The last time they played was four years ago, the score was 3-3. Bet9ja have 1.60 odds, Paripesa have 1.68 odds and 1xBet have 1.68 odds.

Two of the Premier League’s current bottom three sides lock horns this weekend as Everton look to make the most of their home advantage against Southampton. The Toffees beat the Saints 2-1 in the pair’s reverse league fixture earlier in the season and how Lampard could do with another 3pts to relieve some of the pressure that has been mounting on him of late. We’re predicting at least three goals to be scored on Saturday as two of the last three meetings between Everton and Southampton have ended the same way. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in four of the host’s last five matches in all competitions as well as in four of Southampton’s last six outings, so you can see just why we’re backing goals at Goodison Park. Bet9ja have 2.07 odds, Paripesa have 2.17 odds and 1xBet have 2.17 odds.

Anytime Goal scorers

Lautaro Martinez

World Cup-winning striker Lautaro Martínez has looked sharp of late and the Argentinean forward managed to rattle the net in each of his last two appearances against Monza and Parm in Serie A and the Coppa Italia respectively. Martinez also etched his name onto the scoresheet in two of the last four meetings between Inter Milan and Verona, and that record makes him an interesting prospect to net anytime again when the same sides face off this weekend. Bet9ja have 2.10 odds while Paripesa have 1.91 odds.

Rafael Leao

The Portuguese winger would relish a chance to feature today against a side that has struggled defensively of late. He has scored seven goals in the Serie A this season and there is no one stopping him from bagging more here today. He has just one goal and an assist on his return from the just-concluded world cup in four games. Bet9ja have 2.95 odds while Paripesa have 2.40 odds.

Darwin Nunez

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez scored his first goal since the World Cup in the draw with Wolves and that should provide the Uruguayan with a much-needed confidence boost. Nunez has been getting plenty of chances, he is averaging 4.3 shots per game in the league, and he looks a good candidate for a goal at any time on Saturday. Bet9ja have 2.80 odds while Paripesa have 2.35 odds.

Ivan Toney

After missing out recently through injury, it seems like a safe bet that Frank will be using Brentford’s top-scorer Ivan Toney (G13) as much as possible before a potential ban takes effect. The striker has scored 12 goals in the PL this season and was on the scoresheet the last time he appeared for the club. He was substituted off that game due to injury but we expect his return to be a good one today. Bet9ja have 2.25 odds while Paripesa have 2.10 odds.

Demarai Gray

Demarai Gray has scored three of Everton’s last five competitive goals and has struck more PL goals than any other current Toffees player since the start of last season (eight). He should be set for a start today with him providing his side with the much-needed win that they deserve. Bet9ja have 4.20 odds while Paripesa have 3.20 odds.
