11/11 Accurate Football predictions: Wolverhampton vs Tottenham Hotspur

Betting Tips

When Tottenham Hotspur play Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday lunchtime, they hope to end the international break on a high note. Having lost their Premier League unbeaten record in dramatic fashion. On Monday night, Ange Postecoglou’s nine players were crushed 4-1 by Chelsea, their bitter rivals in London. Wolves on the other hand, were left to lament another controversial VAR decision in a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United.

Wolverhampton vs Tottenham Hotspur

The current Wolves team appeared doomed to relegation after losing four of their opening five games of the season. However, at the end of August, the team found their rhythm and went on a five-game winning streak to establish themselves in the mid-table.

In that five-game winning streak, the hosts won brilliantly, defeating Manchester City 2-1 at home and holding Aston Villa and Newcastle United to draw the following two games. Wolves’ most recent game, however, ended in a 2-1 loss.

Spurs, meanwhile, were predicted to struggle this season following a dismal 2022–23 campaign and the summertime loss of Harry Kane. But in North London, Ange Postecoglou has been a magician. This semester, his team has collected 26 of a possible 33 points. They are two points ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal in third and fourth place, respectively, and just one point behind Man City.

After going winless in their first ten games of the season, Spurs suffered a 4-1 home loss to rival Chelsea last week, ending their winning streak. They were down to nine men for the majority of the second half, but they won’t allow that outcome to to stop them.

Verdict

Prior to the loss to Chelsea, Tottenham was dominating. If they hadn’t experienced so many problems with their starting lineup, an away victory could seem like the best course of action, but both teams scoring is likely the better place to start.

The previous three games, Wolves have played at Molineux, where they are undefeated, have all taken place against teams that are now ranked in the top six. In recent weeks, Wolves have been outstanding at the venue.

Both clubs have scored in each of the last nine games played by the hosts, with Spurs having scored in every game this season and Wolves having not drawn a blank since the first round of league play.

Spurs have been excellent this season, but they now have to deal with a Wolves team that is becoming better and has a long injury list. The visitors lack a recognizable left-back as well as up to five first-team defenders due to the injuries of Udogie, Sessegnon, Davies, and Perisic.

Wolves might try to take advantage of it, but Spurs, with Son and Maddison playing well right now, are still a serious threat on the other end. Though we are supporting both sides to at least find the net, this may go either way.
