21/11 Accurate Football predictions: Greece vs France

Betting Tips

France closes out an impeccable Euro 2024 qualifying campaign when they travel to Athens to take on Greece on Tuesday night, on the back of recording their biggest-ever win in history. Les Bleus maintained their 100% record in Group B with a sensational 14-0 obliteration of Gibraltar on Saturday, while the Pirate Ship also emerged victorious from their most recent contest, overcoming New Zealand 2-0 in a friendly.

Greece vs France

Tuesday night’s Group B encounter between Greece and the French national team will see them continue their quest for a spot at the 2024 European Championship.

Greece has remained relatively quiet in the Euros since winning the competition in 2004 and making it to the quarterfinals in 2012. The Blue and Whites’ hopes of making it to EURO 2024 are out of their hands because they were eliminated from the competition in the previous two editions. Gus Poyet’s team has to defeat France on Tuesday in order to qualify, and they also need the Netherlands to fall to Gibraltar, who is now in last place.

Greece will be hoping not only for one miracle to win against France first but two miracles as the Netherlands will be facing Gibraltar, who have lost every game, didn’t score a single goal, and conceded 35 goals in seven games.

France is one of those European countries to be taken seriously regarding football. The French were eliminated in the round of 16 at the previous European Championship, but they have made a strong impression by making it to the main event. Portugal and Deschamps’ team are the only ones with a perfect record in EURO 2024 qualifying.

France may look to try out new names for this clash, but considering they opted for their first-choice line-up against 198th-ranked Gibraltar, there isn’t much hope of massive changes in the lineup. France will be hoping to end on high.

Verdict

Greece has performed admirably on defense ever since the campaign began. Out of seven games, the Pirate Ship has only let up more than one goal.  Three goals or fewer were scored in six of these games.

Although it was an extremely uncommon occurrence, France did score fourteen goals against Gibraltar in their most recent match. Only three of Les Bleus’s seven qualifiers have seen more than two goals scored, while five of those games have seen three goals or fewer.

The close nature of Greece’s and France’s most recent meetings is another reason we anticipate a close match. The last three matches concluded with fewer than 1.5 goals scored.

France is the clear favorite going into this match because of their unwavering play thus far. Even if it might be a meaningless match for them, they still want to finish the campaign strong and continue their current winning ways. Greece, on the other hand, will be looking to give it their all, even if they may not have much chance of moving on to the next round.
