Betting Tips
England will travel to North Macedonia on Monday night. With the knowledge that a point in their last Euro 2024 qualification match would guarantee them a spot in Pot 1 for the draw.
The Three Lions have had a fantastic season, winning seven games with 19 points to comfortably lead Group C and qualify for the European Championship in the summer. North Macedonia, which was ranked fourth in the division, will not be competing in the European Championship next summer.
North Macedonia vs England
England will be looking to wrap up their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign in style and continue their winning streak when they visit Skopje, having won the top spot in Group C. The Three Lions’ campaign has been almost flawless; they have won every qualifying match except for one, including both home and away victories against rival Italy.
The only time Gareth Southgate’s team failed to capture all three points was in a 1-1 draw with Ukraine back in September. They will be trying to make it back-to-back victories against Monday’s opponents after losing badly 7-0 at Wembley back in June.
North Macedonia, on the other hand, has only seven points from their first six games and is currently ranked second from bottom, unable to go to Germany. They have won both of their group matches thus far, 2-1 at home and 2-0 away, against the defending champions Malta.
They also managed a surprising draw with Italy in September, thanks to an equalizer from Enis Bardhi in the 81st minute, after Ciro Immobile had given the Azzurri the lead two minutes earlier.
Verdict
Although England should have won in Skopje on Monday, they were not at their best in their 2-0 victory on Friday. The North Macedonians should present a tougher challenge than bottom-of-the-table Malta.
The Three Lions have already secured the top slot, but after their poor showing on Friday, Gareth Southgate will be expecting more from his team in their last Euro 2024 qualifying match. As a result, they should play a more open match against a team that is more aggressive.
The hosts have scored in nine of their last eleven games overall, although they fell 5-2 in Italy last time out. Despite losing the rematch 7-0, they have performed far better at home, scoring nine goals in their last five games.
In their last seven away games, England’s only clean sheet came against underdogs Malta, and they may have defensive problems in Skopje. However, they should win handily, making an away win and both teams to score a solid selection, given their nearly flawless qualification campaign and the manager’s need for a better showing.
