This Sunday, Portugal’s final 2024 Euro qualifying encounter will pit them against Iceland, a team known for its high flying. For their own sake, Portugal will have to do better against Liechtenstein. They should be able to increase their winning streak to ten games here because they have an amazing amount of talent.
Despite having put them to the test in their most recent meeting, Iceland simply cannot compete with the Selecao’s arsenal of weapons.
In the last group game, Roberto Martinez’s team will play Iceland in an attempt to complete a perfect ten victories out of ten. They have completely dominated the section, giving up just two goals while scoring 34.
Martinez may choose to start with a more balanced lineup in this match, even if Cristiano Ronaldo scored the previous time out. Martinez fielded an extremely attacking team against Liechtenstein, but they only prevailed 2-0.
Portugal is by far the strongest team in this group, and they should be too good for Iceland, who have dropped their previous five away games while giving up 12 goals.
The hosts are expected to score a resounding victory here because they have played nine games since the World Cup and have kept eight clean sheets.
