Betting Predictions
Fulham will set aside their Premier League responsibilities on Thursday night when they host Championship team Watford at Craven Cottage for an FA Cup third-round match.
This is the first time the two teams have faced each other since the Hornets won 4-1 at Vicarage Road in the top league in April 2019.
Head-to-Head
Fulham will try to advance from the FA Cup third round for the sixth consecutive season when they play Watford at home before getting ready for their favorable league matches against West Ham United and Leicester City.
Watford has only advanced from one of their last five FA Cup third-round matches, a 2-1 victory over Chesterfield the previous season. Still, they have won three of their last four encounters with Fulham and have won all three of their previous trips to Craven Cottage, so there is cause for optimism that they will succeed on Thursday.
Team News
Although Reiss Nelson (hamstring), Kenny Tete, and Harrison Reed (both knee) are expected to stay in the treatment room, Fulham’s Sander Berge has a remote possibility of making a comeback from an ankle injury.
Silva will think about switching up his lineup and decide whether to continue with a three-at-the-back formation or switch back to a four-man defense. Two players vying to start at the back are Ryan Sessegnon and Jorge Cuenca.
Smith, Emile After making two substitute appearances since he recovered from his injury, Rowe might be given a midfield start, and attacking players Adama Traore and Rodrigo Muniz will be looking to push their way into the starting lineup. Due to an ankle ligament injury he suffered in the last moments of Watford’s loss to Sheffield United last Saturday, goalkeeper Bachmann might be sidelined for up to three months. For that reason, Bond will start in goal.
While defender Angelo Ogbonna played for just over an hour after missing over 12 weeks due to a hamstring issue, and fellow midfielder Imran Louza recovered from illness to play the entire 90 minutes last time out, Dele-Bashiru is getting closer to making a comeback from a knee ailment but is still iffy.
While players like Porteous, Sissoko, Ince, and Issouf Bayo will be vying for a recall, Ngakia, who scored his first senior goal for Watford last weekend, is in the running to stay at left wing-back.

Verdict
Tip Fulham to Winâś…
Reason
Replays have been necessary to decide the outcome of the last three FA Cup matches between Fulham and Watford; the Hornets won the first two (1932 and 1983) before the Cottagers won in 2005. However, this time around, there are no replays in the competition, and even though Thursday could be another close match, we are rooting for the home team to capitalize on the visitors’ recent poor play and guarantee their place in the fourth round, even if Silva decides to make several changes.

Tip: Over 2.5 Goalsâś…
Reason
Watford, which lost last weekend for the third time in a row in the Championship, travels to the Cottage. In three games over the past week, Tom Cleverley’s team has scored goals while losing to Sheffield United, Cardiff, and QPR.
High-scoring results have been common in recent Watford games, much like with the Cottagers. They have scored BTTS and more than 2.5 goals in five of their previous seven away games, and they have done so in each of their last six games.
Only three of Watford’s 14 away games since April have seen fewer than three goals scored, and Thursday’s result is unlikely to be any different.
