Verdict
Since the beginning of the year, Simone Inzaghi’s team has been exceptional, winning all 13 of their games in 2024. They have defeated teams like Lazio, Napoli, Fiorentina, Juventus, Roma, Atalanta, and, of course, Atletico throughout that run, and they don’t seem to be phased by the big moment.
With Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez at the front of the line, they have the potential to be too strong. Diego Simeone’s team has had a difficult month or so. They lost to Cadiz in La Liga on Saturday and they were eliminated from the Copa del Rey.
However, Inter don’t need to win and for all their troubles, Atletico are very, very stromg at home. They have won their last seven games at home and have already seen off Italian opposition when they beat Lazio. It points to Inter getting the draw they need to qualify.
Seven league losses are troubling, and they still have work to do to keep Bilbao at bay in the battle for the top four spots in La Liga. This game should be won by Inter, and gamblers could want to support them to keep a clean sheet.
