With a narrow lead from the first leg last week, Roma will host AC Milan at Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night to wrap off an all-Italian quarterfinal in the Europa League. Roma vs AC Milan
The second leg of the Europa League quarterfinal between AS Roma and AC Milan takes place in Rome on Thursday night, and it promises to be quite the show. Since AS Roma prevailed 1-0 in the opening match, Daniele De Rossi’s squad must draw to go to the semifinals on Thursday, while AC Milan must triumph to have a chance.
AS Roma’s season is going well. While De Rossi’s club is four points behind the top four teams in Serie A with one game remaining, they are on the verge of qualifying for the semifinals in the Europa League. The previous Saturday, AS Roma traveled to play Udinese; however, the match was called off eighteen minutes in due to a cardiac condition that struck visitor defender Obite Ndicka. It was 1-1 at that point. The completion date of the game is still unclear.
This season, AC Milan is much better. If they don’t win a championship, they will most likely guarantee a spot in the Champions League the next year. Although AC Milan had won their last two games, they had been on an incredible run of seven straight victories. AC Milan defeated Sassuolo 3-1 on the road last weekend. It is not shocking that AC Milan did not earn all three points in that game because head coach Stefano Pioli rested some of the players.

With three straight victories, Roma has jumped into the Champions League places in Serie A and advanced to the Europa League’s round of eight. They’ll feel secure with their lead from the first leg, giving them time to wait and counter Milan, who must attack in this match.
That gives a match between two of Italy’s best teams a unique dynamic that should lead to goals. Eight of the Rossoneri’s previous nine road games have seen both teams score, so this game seems more open than the one at San Siro. Out of the nine previous games between these two, only last week’s game ended without a goal from either team, so expect goals in the second leg.
We should expect Pioli’s side to push for the goal, especially if AS Roma finds the net again. On the other hand, we should expect AS Roma to score, too, as AC Milan has had problems in defense lately.
