Betting Tips
Senegal and Cameroon will play in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations this Friday at Charles Konan Banny Stadium. This is a pivotal second round of matches.
When Guinea plays Gambia in their second Africa Cup of Nations game on Friday night at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, they will be hoping to build on a strong start to their campaign. TopbetsNG picks the top five betting fixtures you can place your money on, plus an extra two tips for our readers.
Senegal vs Cameroon
Senegal easily defeated Gambia 3-0 to begin their championship defense. The reigning champions took the lead through an early goal from Pape Gueye, but Lamine Camara added two more goals to seal the victory and a healthy goal differential. The Lions of Teranga’s stellar recent record was extended to five games without a loss with the outcome, which included four victories and a draw. More astonishingly, though, they have now maintained five straight clean sheets; their last defeat came against Algeria in a friendly match in mid-September.
In the meantime, Cameroon earned a point against Guinea in their first game, although it may have been fortunate for them to come away with anything from the game. Within ten minutes of the start of the game, Guinea had taken the lead. Before their captain was sent off shortly before halfway, they too had the best of the play for the majority of the half. Frank Magri, a forward for Toulouse FC, gave Cameroon a goal back against ten men, although they never looked like they would win the game.
Verdict
Since 2005, Cameroon has failed to score a goal against Senegal, and it is difficult to imagine them scoring on Friday against such a formidable defense.
Senegal can hold their ground against Cameroon as well, having limited Gambia to only two efforts on goal in their opening game on Monday.
They have maintained a clean sheet for the past five games, and we believe the Teranga Lions will continue that trend on Friday.
With only one victory in their last seven games, Cameroon is no longer the formidable team of the past. We think Senegal will win by a slim margin today.

Guinea vs Gambia
Guinea hopes to improve on their 1-1 draw with African heavyweights Cameroon. Kaba Diawara’s team led the match against Cameroon early on, but the five-time champions closed the gap and pulled even early in the second half. Guinea nearly demonstrated their fighting skills despite having to play the entire game with just ten men and without several important players.
The Syli Nationale should be confident going into this match because of their performance on Match Day 1. Guinea’s standing as favorites is further reinforced by the fact that they have only lost once in seven games. Nonetheless, they will want to build on their recent success streak of three games in seven games.
Gambia had a rough start to the AFCON competition following their flight ordeal. Cup winners Senegal smashed them 3-0, and they’ll be hoping for a better performance here. Gambia is only making its second AFCON appearance, but they will get to play Guinea twice. In the 2022 tournament, Gambia prevailed 1-0 in a tense match that saw one player sent off for each team. Gambia, like Guinea in their inaugural match here, lost a man to injury, which made their mission against Senegal all but impossible.
Verdict
Guinea has won its past seven games in all competitions and is riding a wave of consecutive victories. Although they haven’t had the best of luck in this match lately, they will be hoping for a positive result on Friday.
However, Gambia has only won two of its past nine games in all competitions and is now on a three-game losing streak. Before the weekend match, the Syli National were in far better shape than their opponents, so they should win this one.
