Betting Predictions
Bodo/Glimt and Red Star Belgrade square battle for a spot in the newly designed Champions League group stage when they play their first leg of a playoff match on Tuesday.
Champions of Serbia Red Star will play a team that has already competed in two qualifying rounds when they travel north of the Arctic Circle.
Head-to-Head
Although Red Star Belgrade has a respectable record versus Norwegian clubs, these teams have never played one another before. They’ve only lost twice while playing against Norwegian competition, winning six of their nine games. Glimt were favorites to advance from this year’s second qualifying round match against Latvia’s RFS, to whom they promptly dealt a 7-1 aggregate defeat. Glimt had defeated both Roma and Celtic in recent years.
They defeated Jagiellonia Bialystok 1-0 in Poland to go to the playoffs, and then completed the job with a 4-1 triumph back home. With an average of more than three goals per game, four wins, one tie, and most recently a 4-1 thumping of Cukaricki last Thursday, Red Star is once again top of the standings this season.
Team News
Bodo/Glimt are still missing a number of players this week as left-back Brice Wembangomo and Norway defender Omar Elbaddellaoui are among those sidelined along with Nino Zugelj, Gaute Vetti, and Syver Skeide.
In Glimt’s four qualifying matches thus far, Sondre Fet, Ulrik Saltnes, August Mikkelsen, and Kasper Hogh have all scored twice. Hogh, along with former AC Milan winger Jens Petter Hauge, is expected to start up front at Aspmyra Stadion.
In the meantime, captain Patrick Berg, who will play in the hosts’ midfield, has scored goals on a regular basis in this year’s Eliteserien.
Peter Olayinka and Bruno Duarte will probably lead Red Star’s front line, although Gabon international Guelor Kanga, who scored 17 goals in the Serbian Superliga the previous season, is also a dangerous player. Felicio Milson, a recent addition, might potentially be engaged at some point.
Timi Max Elsnik of Slovenia may start alongside South Koreans Seol Young-woo and Hwang In-beom in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s match. Young-woo recently scored his first goal for the club in just his second league appearance.
Probable Line-Up
Bodo/Glimt XI:
Haikin; Sjovold, Moe, Gundersen, Bjorkan; Fet, Berg, Evjen; Hauge, Hogh, Mikkelsen.
Red Star Belgrade XI:
Ilic; Mimovic, Djiga, Spajic, Seol; Elsnik, Hwang; Milson, Ivanic, Olayinka; Duarte.
Verdict
Tip Draw❌
Reason
With so much on the line, the opening leg between two clubs used to crushing opponents in domestic football may be tense.
Red Star is a team that scores goals so frequently that they will probably find the net at some point. If they draw away from home next week, they have a tiny advantage in advance.

Tip: BTTS (YES)âś…
Reason
FK Crvena Zvezda, who has won four of their past five games, is likewise in excellent form as they travel to Norway. The Serbs scored precisely four goals in each of their four triumphs, perhaps just for kicks.
The visitors have never fared well in away UCL qualifiers before. Since 2022, FK has suffered losses in all four of their away qualification matches. We should anticipate both teams to score given their excellent goal-scoring records, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the home team scored two or more goals.
