Betting Predictions
This weekend’s Premier League action will be dominated by a clash of the titans as Manchester City and Arsenal, the top two teams from the previous season, square off in a match already at the top of the standings.
After goalless draws against Italian opponents in the Champions League, both heavyweights are back in action domestically. Inter Milan held the Citizens, while the Gunners needed further heroics from David Raya to pull a point away from Atalanta BC.
Head-to-Head
Despite winning the league, Manchester City just managed one point from their two Premier League matchups with Arsenal last season. The Gunners defeated Guardiola’s men in the Community Shield last season as well, so they have now won three straight games against them.
When the teams play in Manchester, they will be attempting to maintain their undefeated league records for the current campaign. A victory for the home team would put them five points ahead of the visitors, while a victory for the Gunners would allow them to pass the Sky Blues and take the top spot in the Premier League rankings.
Team News
In a sad turn of events for both managers, Man City and Arsenal will likely start Sunday’s big game without their main creators since the hosts aren’t willing to take any chances with Kevin De Bruyne following his Champions League groin injury.
While it is unlikely that De Bruyne will be sidelined for an extended period of time, Guardiola is unwilling to take any chances with a fit-again Phil Foden in the stands. Foden, 24, is now poised to make his first season start in De Bruyne’s place.
In the treatment room, the Belgian playmaker is being kept company by Nathan Ake (thigh) and Oscar Bobb (leg). Foden might be one of two English players summoned back to the starting lineup, with Kyle Walker possibly assigned to silence Arsenal’s left-winger, whoever he may be.
Before the Atalanta tie, Arteta officially revealed the worst-kept secret—that the Scandinavian would be sidelined for “a while” due to his ankle ailment. Both De Bruyne and Arsenal captain Odegaard will be watching helplessly this weekend.
Odegaard has joined Merino (shoulder), Zinchenko (calf), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), and Kieran Tierney (hamstring) in the Arsenal medical bay. However, Declan Rice has returned from suspension and Riccardo Calafiori and Bukayo Saka have overcome setbacks to play against Atalanta.
Probable Line-Up
Manchester City XI:
Ederson; Walker, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Rodri; Savinho, Silva, Foden; Haaland
Arsenal XI:
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Havertz, Partey, Rice; Saka, Jesus, Trossard
Verdict
Tip Drawâś…
Reason
Some supporters would be forgiven for submitting themselves to a dreary watch of Sunday’s major event considering both clubs’ lackluster midweek results, the unavailability of De Bruyne and Odegaard, and their uninteresting pair of matches last season. Regretfully, we may see that very same situation occurring at the Etihad once more. Even if Haaland is playing brilliantly at home, Arsenal has one of the strongest defenses in the world right now, thus another scoreless draw seems certain.

Tip: Under 2.5 Goals❌
Reason
This season’s schedule is tough, with international breaks and the new Champions League structure, so it will be challenging for both clubs to play at their typical aggressive levels. Concerns among players regarding the abundance of fixtures are intensifying, and the likelihood of a football strike is becoming more plausible. Nevertheless, following difficult midweek matches in the Champions League, both clubs will have to endure another demanding game. Such conditions make a high-scoring game appear improbable. Furthermore, there have been fewer than three goals scored in four of the last six games between the two teams.
