Betting Predictions
When Manchester City hosts Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night, they will try to cut the five-point deficit to Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Before the international break, the Citizens and Spurs lost 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town, respectively. The Citizens and Spurs are both trying to get back on track.
Head-to-Head
Manchester City has only won five of the last 13 meetings against Spurs, making them a nightmare team for Guardiola’s club. Tottenham has only won once in their last nine trips to the Etihad, and most of their successful games have taken place there.
No team in the Premier League has scored three or more in four straight trips to the Etihad Stadium, but Spurs have scored two or more in each of their last three games against the reigning champions.
Team News
Rodri, the winner of the Ballon d’Or, will be at the Etihad this weekend to present his coveted award, but the midfielder is still out due to an ACL injury, and Oscar Bobb is also a long-term absence due to a leg fracture.
But in addition to Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku, Nathan Ake, and Matheus Nunes, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Manuel Akanji, and Phil Foden have all participated in training this week and will be evaluated prior to kickoff.
Given the possible return of Stones, Akanji, and Dias, two of those players might start in central defense, with Rico Lewis and Kyle Walker vying for a starting position at right-back and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey making way and Josko Gvardiol switching to left-back.
Bentancur, who was given a seven-match suspension by the Football Association for remarks he made regarding teammate Son Heung-min a few months ago, will not play for Tottenham. Since then, Spurs have appealed the length of the ban.
Romero, whose wife recently gave birth to a daughter, is doubtful, and Van de Ven, Richarlison, and Wilson Odobert are also doubtful due to hamstring issues. The former is still a “good couple of weeks” away from returning.
Ben Davies and Radu Dragusin might play together in the center of defense in Romero’s possible absence, while Yves Bissouma might be called up to start in center-midfield alongside Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Matar Sarr, or James Maddison instead of Bentancur.

Verdict
Tip Manchester City to Win❌
Reason
Since Man City has lost more Premier League games (six) and given up more Premier League goals (22) against Tottenham than against any other opponent under the Catalan coach, Tottenham has been something of a nightmare team for Guardiola. In what could be another thrilling, action-packed match full of goalmouth activity, Spurs will fancy their chances of breaking through City’s defense once more this weekend. However, if the Citizens are to welcome back some of their key players, they should perform well in front of a carnival atmosphere at the Etihad after Guardiola’s contract renewal.

Reason
Tottenham has recently played a lot of high-scoring games. In two of the previous three games, they were over 3.5 goals, and in the previous four, they were over 2.5 goals. The Spurs also struggled mightily on defense, particularly when playing away from home, where they only managed one clean sheet in eight games and primarily faced inferior opponents to MC. These teams also faced off in the Carabao Cup around a month ago, with Tottenham winning 2:1. It was a miracle that there weren’t more goals scored after we witnessed three goals in the first half and numerous opportunities in the second. Taking everything into account, we anticipate a high-scoring match in which both teams will score.
