This week, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi might be without captain Lautaro Martinez once more as the Capocannoniere from last season continues to struggle with a muscle issue.
Mehdi Taremi, a former striker for Porto, began against Lecce and should be able to hold off Arnautovic’s challenge to partner Marcus Thuram up front.
Tajon Buchanan is still out with a leg injury, but Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij has resumed full training and may start alongside summer acquisition Piotr Zielinski on the bench.
Gian Piero Gasperini, the manager of Atalanta, will still need to fill several gaps in his team: goalkeeper Juan Musso is leaving for Atletico Madrid, El Bilal Toure recently left for Stuttgart, and Teun Koopmeiners is headed to Juventus. Ademola Lookman, the Europa League hero, is also expected to be transferred.
Moreover, Mitchel Bakker and Sead Kolasinac won’t be available this weekend, and Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini are both chronic absentees.
However, veteran pair Rui Patricio and Juan Cuadrado have arrived, and fellow newcomer Raoul Bellanova will compete with Davide Zappacosta for the wingback position.
Mateo Retegui teams up with former Milan forward Charles De Ketelaere in the final third after the forward scored three goals in his first two Serie A games for La Dea.
