Ukraine moved within one game of Euro 2024 after winning 2-1 away to Bosnia-Herzegovina in their playoff semi-final. In their match against Iceland, Ukraine has been drawn to play at home. The match will take place at Tarczynski Arena in Poland.

Iceland advanced with a 4-1 victory over Israel on Thursday night, winning on the road. But Iceland had difficulty getting through their qualifying group and ended up only one point ahead of the Bosnian team that Ukraine defeated earlier this week.

After defeating Bosnia once and defeating Liechtenstein twice, Iceland finished fourth, seven points behind Luxembourg and a full twelve behind the leaders. Due to friendly matches against Guatemala and Honduras, Iceland had a winning streak leading into this match; nevertheless, with six losses in their ten group games, Ukraine seemed poised for a fourth straight victory. Despite this, Iceland has scored in six of their last seven away games, including losses to Slovakia and Luxembourg.
