On Monday, Hamburger SV will face Stuttgart in the second leg of their relegation play-off in an attempt to stage a miraculous recovery.
Through their 3-0 victory at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Thursday, Stuttgart made a significant step toward maintaining their Bundesliga position.

HSV appeared to be the greatest 2. Meanwhile, Hamburg finished the league season with three straight victories, outscoring their opponents 8-2. It’s interesting to note that five of their eight losses in the 2. Bundesliga this year occurred away from home. Hamburg’s home record is worrying, despite the fact that they are in better shape than their southern rivals. Stuttgart should be able to keep the hot-shot visitors to a draw given their home advantage.
This season, HSV was the 2. Bundesliga team with the best offense. In 34 league games, they scored an incredible 70 goals. HSV averaged more than two goals per game at their home stadium, which was very impressive. HSV is still concerned about the three goals they gave up to Stuttgart in the opening match. It appears that their defense is not up to par with Bundesliga opponents. Stuttgart had trouble scoring during the majority of the season.
Even so, it appears that they have started scoring more frequently recently, and as a result, they are now in danger of not making it out of the Bundesliga. Despite the poor HSV defense on Monday, Stuttgart should be able to score at least once despite holding a sizable advantage from the first game.
