The Premier League and La Liga continue their action today while the rest of the top flight leagues take a much needed rest until the start of next year.
From what we’ve seen, it’s a tad bit difficult to predict league games in midweek for obvious reasons. The issue of fatigue and squad rotation comes to play and it’s why we’ve seen some funny results so far.
Yesterday was not the best of days and we hope to correct that today for sure. For the straight win section, Arsenal and Leeds did justice to that but Barcelona were held at home by Eibar.
The goal market was one to forget as none came through. We needed one more goal from Sevilla and Barcelona respectively while Rashford left it late to score for United. The goal-scorer market was also one to forget as they all failed to hit the mark. The surprise was Bamford who only managed an assist despite Leeds’ 5-0 thrashing of West Brom.
Today is another day to make amends and we won’t back down but only aim for better as we always do.
Straight Wins
Top of the table Liverpool travel to St. James’ park to take on Newcastle. The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom last weekend and we can assume nothing short of a win will be on their agenda. The Magpies are also without a win in their last three games and we see Liverpool taking all three points tonight. Bet365 have 1.28 odds, Bet9ja have 1.30 and 1xbet have 1.34.
Elsewhere, Tottenham welcome fellow London side Fulham to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Surprisingly, both sides are without a win in their last four league games but this game represents the perfect opportunity for Spurs to end their year on a high. We’re tipping Spurs to get back to winning ways tonight. Bet365 have 1.44 odds, Bet9ja have 1.46 and 1xbet have 1.48 odds.
Off to La Liga, top of the table Atletico welcome Getafe to the Wanda Metropolitano and we can see nothing but a win for Diego Simeone’s side. Their only loss this season has come at the hands of Real Madrid and we can’t see another upset happening just yet. We’re expecting Atletico to win this by any score-line. Bet365 have 1.44 odds, Bet9ja have 1.50 and 1xbet have 1.55.
Also in La Liga, Real Madrid travel to the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero to take on Elche. Los Blancos are on a winning run having won their last five games in succession. We expect them to make it six against an Elche side with only three wins all season and a side without a win in their last five league outings. Bet365 have 1.25 odds, Bet9ja have 1.27 and 1xbet have 1.31.
Over 2.5 Goals
We already tipped Liverpool to claim a win tonight and it also seems like the kind of fixture where there could be a good number of goals in display. We’re tipping that to happen as well. Bet9ja have 1.48 odds while Bet365 and 1xbet have 1.53.
Likewise, we are backing Real Madrid to topple Elche and it also screams like a game where Los Blancos could have a go at their opponents faltering defence. Provided fatigue doesn’t come into play, this game should secure over 2.5 goals as well. Bet9ja have 1.60 odds, Bet365 have 1.61 and 1xbet have 1.70.
Over 1.5 Goals
For some reason, the bookies tend to give Atletico good odds for the goal market (possibly because of their style of play. They don’t occasionally give us over 2.5 goals but we’re expecting at least two goals in this game. Bet9ja have 1.48 odds while Bet365 and 1xbet have 1.50.
Anytime Goal-scorer
Benzema
Benzema is currently the joint La Liga top scorer with 8 goals so far and 12 for Real Madrid in all competitions. He has proven to be a consistent source of goals for Los Blancos and we’re tipping him to do so tonight as well. Bet365 have 1.61 odds for him to score while Bet9ja have 1.75.
Kane
Kane hasn’t found the back of the net in his last three games but this game is a good one for him to get back in the goals. Himself and Son will fancy having a go at a Fulham side lacking confidence at the moment. Bet365 have 1.57 odds while Bet9ja have 1.63.
Salah
The Egyptian remains the league’s top scorer with 13 goals to his name. He failed to score last time out against West Brom and he’ll be eager to get back in the familiar scene of scoring tonight. Bet365 have 1.44 odds and Bet9ja have it better at 1.80.
