Alexander Isak, the attacking talisman, may have only scored once in his first five Premier League games, but he will spearhead Howe’s attack at St. James’ Park. The hot-shot Harvey Barnes, who has scored in each of his last three Premier League games, will play with Isak in the closing third.
Oscar Bobb and Nathan Ake have joined Rodri in the Man City medical room, and Kevin de Bruyne is doubtful following his absence from the 2-2 draw with Arsenal the previous week.
Erling Haaland, who broke the record last weekend at the Etihad and has now remarkably scored 10 goals in the Premier League, will be a key player. This might be Phil Foden’s first top-flight start of the season for the England international.
