03-08-23 Daily Football Predictions: South Korea vs Germany

Betting Tips

On Thursday, South Korea will play against Germany in a World Cup match. Brisbane Stadium will host their last group stage game. South Korea is presently ranked number four in Group H after the second round with zero points. Germany is ranked second with three points. Germany appeared to be on track to advance to the Round of 16. On Sunday, they were shockingly defeated 2-1 by Colombia. In order to proceed, Germany must now win, as do the South Koreans, who also require a lot of outside assistance.

South Korea vs Germany

At the World Cup, South Korea is having a lot of issues. After two rounds, South Korea’s chances of moving on to the next stage are merely theoretical, contrary to what they had anticipated to be a strong likelihood. South Korea has thus far in the competition lost to Colombia 2-0 and to Morocco 1-0.

Germany was considered one of the favorites to win the World Cup, yet after two rounds, they were still eliminated. Germany will almost certainly move to the playoff round with a win, though. Martina Voss-Tecklenburg’s team has so far defeated Morocco 6-0 and Colombia 2-1. Germany lost shockingly to Colombia in the second round after Manuela Vanegas’ game-winning goal during stoppage time of the second half.

After losing 2-0 to Colombia and 1-0 to Morocco, the Asian team has yet to win or score a goal in this tournament. The likelihood that the Koreans will do as well as they did in the 2015 competition when they advanced to the round of 16, is extremely low. They certainly have a history of scoring goals, having scored 12 in three friendlies prior to the event, but Germany is a very different animal.

The squad has so far advanced to at least the quarterfinals in every World Cup campaign, so it would be a great shock if they didn’t. The Germans’ recent form has been inconsistent; in their last six games, they have alternated between losing and winning three games.

Verdict

South Korea is still in the running, but there is not much left to play for. They have lost both of their games thus far, therefore in order to move up to second place, they would need to beat Germany handily in addition to Colombia winning.

Given that South Korea has yet to score a goal at the tournament, that seems implausible. considering how at ease Germany appeared against Morocco in their opener, another clean sheet should be on the way for the favorites considering that they have lost both games by a score of zero.

In their last six World Cup games, South Korea has lost, scoring just once. In an effort to avenge their shocking loss, Germany is betting on a win to nil in order to advance to the round of 16. The team’s captain and forward Alexandra Popp from Germany has been having a good season. She scored two goals in the victory over Morocco on July 24 and one more against Colombia the following day. The 32-year-old has 65 goals in 130 games for the national team in his career.
