29/12 Accurate Football Predictions: Cardiff vs Leicester City

Betting Tips

When Leicester City visits Cardiff City on Saturday, they’ll be looking to go back to winning ways quickly after a little setback on Boxing Day. The Bluebirds haven’t played well lately, especially at home, and they shouldn’t be able to compete with the championship leaders’ better caliber. Prior to this match on Saturday, Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle drew 2-2 in their Championship game.

Cardiff vs Leicester City

Cardiff City, which is currently in 11th place in the standings, will be looking to win and move up into the top six. They were unable to secure their third victory in five games due to a 2-2 draw with Plymouth in their last encounter. Cardiff will be especially devastated after trailing 2-1 at one point in the match before giving up the equalizer in the 66th minute.

Following the outcome, they had only managed one victory in their previous four games, during which they had two losses. Their home form is also not the finest, and they haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last four games. In their last five home games, Cardiff City have lost three of them.

It appears that Leicester City will make a Premier League comeback. The 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in their previous game merely slowed them down. Following a goal in the first half by Stephy Mavididi, a late own goal by Jannik Vestergaard prevented Leister’s sixth consecutive victory.

For Leicester City, a draw with the team in second place would not feel like a huge loss, though. They still maintain a six-point advantage over the team in second place. They are now 11 points clear of the third-place team in the fight for automatic promotion. Leicester has won six of their previous eight games and is into this one undefeated.

Verdict

Enzo Maresca’s team is now 11 points clear of third-place Southampton and will be heading to Cardiff in search of their tenth road win of the year. Out of 12 away championship games, the Foxes have won nine and lost only one, demonstrating their exceptional road performance.

Cardiff, on the other hand, is currently mid-table, around 25 points behind the Flying Foxes, having battled for form this season. In their last nine games, the Bluebirds have lost five of them, and they have only triumphed in three of their last ten league games. Erol Bulut’s team has suffered three straight losses at Cardiff City Stadium, and on Boxing Day, they were held to a 2:2 tie by Plymouth.

The Foxes claimed a 2:1 win when these sides met earlier this season, and a similar outcome seems likely on Friday evening, with Cardiff poor in recent home matches.
